No, I've experienced this before. I also note that it limits verbal harassment to sexual comments, as though other, perhaps more threatening taunts and jeers are somehow less of an issue. I've had strangers threaten me with death while I was going about my normal business, so the idea that comments about attractiveness are somehow the be all and end all of such behaviour is a little insulting.

My odds of being hired for a job, when competing against female applicants, are probably skewed in my favor. The more prestigious the job, the larger the odds are skewed.

Untrue. The industry I work in, and most of those I would consider going into, a largely dominated by women. It's also worth noting that the majority of people who have interviewed me for jobs have been women.

Flat out untrue. I know a roughly equal number of male and female victims of domestic abuse. Parts of my childhood were also borderline abusive.

Because, as a man, I'm assumed to have no clue what I'm doing. Expectations that are low are that much easier to exceed.

The majority of my superiors are women. Also, the fact that women often choose life paths that lead to them being less likely employed in a senior position is the cause of any such disparities.

Clearly the author of this list doesn't know the women I know.

If this list is anything to go by, it's probably because it's largely fictional.

Thats right, I am lucky enough to be excluded from jobs because of my skin colour and gender but I am still the privileged one.

I don't know how prevalent this sort of thing is but I'd rather walk down the street with a higher likelihood of "people yelling at me" than a higher likelihood of people physically assaulting me.

Probably because the male gender is expected to work harder and is less likely to take time off due to life choices. And if you're trying to enter a female dominated sector (think anything to do with children) then you're at a severe disadvantage.

Personally, I think they missed the opportunity to make a valid point and instead diluted it into rubbish. More men occupy higher positions? Sure, that's true even if we may disagree on the reasoning behind it. The "person in charge" that I'm asking to see likely because I have a complaint? I really don't care if it's a man or a woman, if they happen to share my sex it makes no difference to me.

Wha-huh? Is there a study on this? I would actually be very interested to see it so I can know whether or not this is just some individual's experience and feelings about how the world works and all the mansplaining in it.

All of these feminists notions of privilege come from assumptions.

They assume certain things happen to women all the time (every women who has ever stepped outside gets a dog whistle until she runs crying to the nearest women-only safe space).

They assume men face no problems because they don't bother asking men (why, men are privileged and face no problems).

You could just as easily do one of these in reverse.

Did you get laughed at for crying and told to man up today? If not: PRIVILEGE!

Did someone portray your gender being denigrated or punched in the genitals for humorous effect in an ad or show? If not: PRIVILEGE!

I mean, I've heard of "grass being greener on the other side" and all that but goddammit! Ladies, the moment you say you understand the male experience better than men, and therefore that gives you the right to comment on men's lives, I instantly lose all respect for you.
