I know this isn't as substantial a post as the ones where men fight false rape claims, discrimination, abuse, etc and it may even seem trivial to some, but I just think it's interesting how even the most casual of feminists can be so knee deep in their own shit that they won't even consider any other side of an issue, and I felt like posting what just happened to me and what new feminist infographic you can expect to be seeing more on social media soon.

As seen here, the graphic basically claims that the people with the highest IQ's ever were women. Uh, cool factoid and all, it's just not true. In fact, it's much more complicated than that.

So an outspoken "feminist" (albeit, pretty casually from the confines of her bedroom on her blog) and friend of mine on Facebook decides to post this graphic to her wall. Not to paint myself as an innocent victim, but truthfully, all I attempted to do was try to open a discussion as to just how much more complex this issue was, linking to an article explaining how this claim isn't entirely true. I wasn't trying to discredit these incredibly intelligent women, or even the women's rights movements in general. I am all for equality on both ends, which is really the reason as to why I commented in the first place. Both men and women make up the top 10 list of highest IQs, which I think speaks to the fact that we both can be incredibly smart, or incredibly stupid, incredibly lucky, or incredibly disadvantaged.

Anyway!

Instead of any kind of discussion or acknowledgement, I'm met with this, as well as a deletion of my comment, and her blocking me from seeing the post. I guess I'm wrong for expecting more of people, regardless of their beliefs on these kinds of issues. Whatever. Just thought I'd share.
