I have to admit, I do think it peculiar that feminists have suddenly started claiming that they care about men.

Note the word "Claiming" because from what I've seen, the feminist position on men is still dismissive verging on hostile.

They've always said both contradictory things at once, sometimes within the same paragraph.

This is because feminism is a conservative / authoritarian movement and those people don't have a liberal understanding of truth or consistency. by "liberal" here I mean very basic "truth is good" and "consistency is good" stuff. To an authoritarian loyalty is the most important thing so an argument or comment is judged good if and only if it endorses the tribe's values. it's like "the ends justify the means" applied to debate. "The conclusion justifies the statement"

What that means is that if a feminist has two contradictory statements they could make and both back their ideology they will tend to use both because two is better than one. Consistency, truth? -- unimportant compared to winning the argument. They simply don't comprehend that to a liberal that sort of inconsistency and insincerity mean you've already lost the argument.

It's a different way of judging "truth" which is a hallmark of conservative / authoritarian groups.

Making sense just isn't important to a feminist. That's a liberal ideal.

Guys, the posts AGAINST feminism need to stop. MensRights doesn't have to be against feminism. The two should be the two sides of a coin. I'm tired of this shit, it's not productive. Focus on the positive, now more people realize that gender equality is the real issue. Many feminists are actually for gender equality. Yeah, you can say to you have a right to whine, but fuck it, this is /r/mensright not r/feminismisbadmkay
