I'm sick to death of all the blah blah blah on this issue. The next time somebody on your facebook or wherever accuses you of being an asshole for thinking false rape accusations are a crime, don't argue with them. Don't engage them. You cannot use reason to get them out of a position they never used reason to get in.

Just repeat: "If you side with false rape accusers, then you don't care about actual victims."

Just say it, over and over. Forget all the other crap.

When women lie about rape, it makes it harder for the next actual rape victim to be believed.

Yes, I know it also destroys a man's life, but the person you're arguing with DOESN'T CARE about that, so leave it alone. At this point, I would rather get more women to agree that false rape accusations harm other women, because the more people who think false accusations are bad (no matter why they think so) perhaps more will be done about it, reducing the total number of false accusations.

Later, we can try to get them to see men as, you know, actual people, with feelings and shit. But if the false accuser is a woman, and the victim is a man, trying to get them to care about the man is futile. Show them another woman as the victim, and maybe they will begin to see how "siding with the woman automatically" actually hurts more women.

Of course, there's really no reasoning with false-accusation defenders anyway, which is another reason to make a single statement and leave it alone.

But if you are seen as advocating FOR women (actual rape victims) instead of AGAINST a woman (a false rape accuser) in favor of a MAN (victim of false accusation), you might defang one of their primary tools, which is to ignore all arguments because you're just defending a man at the expense of a woman.

Yeah, it probably won't work, but "reasoned discourse" doesn't either.
