edit:I feel sad that I even have to say this, but there is nothing wrong with being gay, or in someone assuming you are gay. The issue is that some people try to elicit shame by suggesting a platonic relationship is sexual. It's about the attempt to shame, not whether or not one IS shamed.

I see it everywhere now. The term "bromance" and going "Brokeback" etc. It seems guys can't be friends unless there is some sexual element foisted upon that relationship by women who seem to be attempting to shame the men involved so they can control their free time.

This seems to be a huge modern trend. Are men free to be friends with other men anymore? What hit to men have to take, socially, to have friends and time with other male friends?

And isn't this abusive behavior? It seems women are encouraged to keep their friends, go out etc... it's all innocent, but men hanging out with men is 'gay'.

It can't be a 'male' homophobic thing, or some kind of gender role that has backfired on men. Men used to hangout with men. It used to be accepted and considered a necessary part of being a human - having friends and all.
