How do you deal with being bullied by your peers for being an MRA?

I've had 'friends' tell me I'm a misogynist who wants women to suffer, that it's ok because men have had it awesome for so long(y'know, being forced to fight for a cause you don't believe in, die, build society, knuckle down and work to provide for a family), and that 'feminism is fighting for men's issues too'.

Apparently all we have to do is take a back-seat to women forever, and wait for them eventually to get to us. Ain't nobody got time for that. REVOLUCION!

Calm cool and collected. Give people the facts and let them sort it out for themselves. If they refuse to see the truth, they still know it, they're just refusing to admit it.

I usually just state my point and stop discussing.

One thing about being a MRA, in comparison to just about any other "less popular stance", is the emotion of the topics. If you discuss being an MRA with someone who identify as feminist. They are going to pick emotional topics like, rape and battered women. The discussion immediately goes out the window as most women, can not discuss these topics without becoming emotionally involved. This is why feminism is so powerful with many women.

You will also learn that the amount of knowledge to discuss topics as the perceived "loser" (women). Is not as high as arguing for the perceived "winner" (men). Since underdog status is based on perceived social biases.

Also I have learned that as long as people consider their oppressor to be "white male", aka the "patriarchy". I have realized there is literally no point in discussion, as the only people really capable of oppressing are those with power (money and voice), this can be rich individuals or professional leaders of a movement (see: Feminism, White or Black power movements).

I've never been bullied. Sometimes a mangina will geek out or a conservative-feminist woman will complain that womyn have it worse, but I don't lose sleep over it. I just stop talking to them.

My parents have all but disowned me and a faction of feminazis in our very large extended family are trying to drive me out. Autistic kind of guy that I am, I care, but not that much. And every time it starts to get me down, I just remind myself of that. In fact, I have a sign with that slogan hanging on my cubicle wall at work to remind me: "I Care, But Not That Much!"

I'm not friends with feminists.

I dated one once, against my better judgement. It turned out exactly the way I thought it would -- I was to blame for everything, everything had to be her way, every minor personal argument got blown up into some great gender struggle.

Obviously, it didn't last long, and it's not something I would ever consider repeating.

Keep calm, stick to facts and logic rather than appeals to tradition or unnamed authorities, be conscientious of other peoples' feelings and points of view, and if they're blatantly insulting or bashing you, politely point out that, out of self-respect, you do not sanction insults or rudeness and will therefor not converse with anyone who doesn't extend to you the courtesy that you extend to those with whom you disagree.

To me, it's like when you have a very fat person who always overeats and never exercises.

The same social rules that exist there are what I follow. I don't say "Hey buddy, look how strong and thin I am. Bet you wish you could put down the donuts for a minute and jog with me, huh?"

Because, sharing your views like that WILL lose you friends. The only friends that I have lost were terribly toxic people. The kind that post "Violence against women is never ok" on their FB wall 17 times a week.

I'm having the exact same problem with my sister right now, to be honest. She's the kind of well-meaning feminist who doesn't understand the connotations of stuff like portraying domestic violence as entirely males on females (her opinion is that women suffer "worse" from it so it's OK, regardless of what stats I show her she focuses on the 1% difference or the slightly worse injuries women suffer to justify it), and it's becoming a problem. We've basically agreed not to talk about it: I understand she isn't a terrible person and that she means good despite what I consider to be discriminatory views and she thinks I'm an annoying-as-fuck nitpicker for telling her that anti-violence against women events do no more good than anti-black people-who-beat-white-people events.

If you're young enough to say that you've been bullied by your peers and that you're worried about losing friends due to your advocacy, you might consider changing how you advocate for men's rights. Due to indoctrination and youthful naivete, the young tend to trend mainstream liberal. If you go against that, you're going to lose friends, especially if you are outspoken. So you can either pipe down and let your commitment to men's rights inform your advocacy without being overt or you can walk down the often lonely road of being outspoken.
