No its not racist, nor is it offensive. But at the same time be honest with yourself and aware, "why do i like x race", "why do i like beards". The answer is usually in your early years of upbringing to your teens, sometimes your first close relationship. And what your disagreeing friend was probably getting at is white imperialism being dominant so people sometimes have a self-hatred of their identity, race and hence partners of that same race.

I find it kinda racist when someone says they'd never be attracted to anyone of X race. Like it's fine imo to say you don't tend to find certain features attractive, but it's not as if all people of a specific ethnic background all look the same. It's grouping huge swaths of people together under one small umbrella.

it’s racist if:

the reason for the preference is rooted in negative stereotypes (ex “i don’t like [XYZ] women because they’re aggressive”)
you’re unable to see objective beauty in any member of that race (ex “all [XYZ] men are ugly”

I don’t think it’s racist but I think a lot of minority races are not seen as broadly appealing because they are minorities and therefore most people don’t spend a lot of time around time. Simply being exposed to them in media is not enough. I’m talking about spending time with them in person.

I remember I used to not be attracted to Indian women. But when I went to college and made some Indian friends and became exposed to a lot more Indian women, I found myself being attracted to them.

Now I routinely date them, among all other races.

I think if racists spent a lot of time with the races they hated, they’d come to find that they aren’t as “bad” as they seem to think.

The problem is a lack of extensive, positive exposure.

No. It's not racist. Racism is using the power of the political, legal, economic, academic and social systems to disadvantage a group based on race. It has nothing to do with dating all races. Individual choices and preferences are not in that category.

No it’s not. Whoever says this is just trying to force the western agenda on you.

Different races have different faces. It’s not just a difference in skin. (ie albino people are still black looking even though their skin is white)

It’s completely normal and natural to prefer certain races.

Yeah, it's racist, by definition. But that doesn't mean it's bad.

Not all racist things are bad. Is it bad to say black people are more likely to have sickle cell anemia? Is it bad to say white people are more likely to get skin cancer?
