Penalties for Failing to Register

If required to register with Selective Service, failure to register is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment.

Also, a person who knowingly counsels, aids, or abets another to fail to comply with the registration requirement is subject to the same penalties.

You will not be eligible for financial aid for college if you do not register for selective service (the draft). There are theoretically other repercussions but in practice that is it.

I would register for the SSS but if push comes to shove you can refuse to fight for "Religious" reasons

The draft will never be reinstated. Doing so would be political suicide. Our military is as good as it is because its volunteer, and anyone with any sense knows that. Register. It's not a big deal.

I believe that if you have not registered by age 26, you are committing a felony. Felons get a lot of restrictions, like not being able to work for the government (IIRC).

Nobody is gonna answer publicly to leave a paper trail. They don't find any evidence of billionaires evading taxes, but they sure will monitor what people post for advice in evading the draft or finding ways to prevent being drafted.

Honestly its up to you. I havent heard of anyone getting in serious legal trouble for it. Plus we are an all volunteer military and i highly doubt the draft will happen anytime soon.

It's a felony to know about SSS and not register. So even this post can probably be used as an evidence against you.
