It's tough because women are making such a big deal about little things right now and if men start saying "but there's nothing wrong with a bit of touching" they just think we're trying to oppress by pushing for laws / regulations / social acceptance of rape. If we show that women are falling under their own definition of rape and they're getting punished for it then it forces women to re-examine if that's actually rape.

Then it's a matter of combating their go-to arguments of "women are pure angels and men are evil demons" as well as the pussy-pass as it's called in terms of sentencing.

[–]w1g2 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, in another thread on here (about Rachel Johnson) a man named William Freeman was brought to court over kissing his female friend's shoulder and head. The judge ruled that he must register on a sex offender list and that he "learned his lesson that you don't make an advance on a woman who doesn't want you to."

So hence Katy Perry here should be forced to sign as a sex offender because she made an advance without knowing whether the man wanted her to.

[–]Eastuss[🍰] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Either they'll say "it's different", either they'll say "Sure it should be forbidden too", sadly.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These things will not be taken lightly until women are forced to live by the standard they want set for men.

[–]maluminse[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Youre a misogynist pig if you don't agree with what they're saying. All sexual assault is equal.

See its easy to do that when its one way. You cant disagree, you will be chastised.

I just laughed/scoffed and looked out the window.

We dont fkn change. We are in a horrible loop over over over again.

Why I laughed - The Scarlett Letter.

Its become to oppose conduct you are then agreeing with conduct at its most extreme.

A man that stole a kiss in the same way is no more a pig than Katy Perry. Playful silly banter. Were human. Right now thats not true for only one segment of society.

Its the very reason this sub exists.

[–]rmbarnes 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In a way I agree, but in another way, the reason things are as they are is because men don't make a fuss when things like this happen to men, but when the situation is reversed women do.

[–]Eastuss[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I understand the need of a an overreaction in order to raise awareness, but it is exactly what i reproach feminist activists to do.

[–]thecaramelbandit 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We should fight for these things to be seen as not a huge deal, but recognized as wrong. What Katy did was wrong. Maybe it wasn't a big deal, but she messed up and she shouldn't have done that.

As a society, we seem to vehemently disagree on whether what she did was wrong at all. We live in a society where a large portion of people think the consent thing is overblown and exaggerated. But we have to point out and talk about all of these small incidents because we are trying as a society to come to grips with where the line is. Of course people will, loudly and frequently, talk about where that line is and what has crossed it.

[–]mwobuddy 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This would be sexual assault if the genders were reversed and a young woman reacted by falling backwards like that.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Getting downvoted for saying the same thing in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/83v72u/guy_auditions_for_katy_perry_on_new_american_idol/

I really can't stand the hypocrisy. Everyone knows it's true.

[–]Dembara 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yea, I don't think there is anything wrong with this. It is not like when Jenny McCarthy molested Justin Bieber on stage and violated him. It is something that should be taken lightly as amusing and cute. However, if it were the other way, I have a feeling a lot of people would not think the same.

[–]maluminse[S] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You wholly accept the hypocrisy?? Or you recognize it.

Its fine either way. So a girl gets a kiss on the lips or a guy big fucking deal. If that is traumatizing for the rest of your life youre in for major trouble b/c the bumps on this road are far far bigger than a peck on the lips.

However, b/c Ive taken the effort to be sarcastic af and type a long and logical response I will paste it here too.

This is horrendous behaviour. He consentented to a cheek kiss not a lip kiss. She 'stole the kiss'. Thats the nomenclature. Youre ok with touching others with their mouths in a way they dont consent??

And he is an innocent virginal type who has never kissed anyone. Maybe he was saving his first kiss for someone special. No for the rest of his life he will be traumatized by this horrendous moment of entitlement of this starlet, who has power over him as a starlet and by age.

Two basis for abusing. She abused her power and her experience. Gastly.

Ever seen Demi Moore make out repeatedly with the 12 or 13 year old. Didnt hear a word about that. #metoo

Saw 'Sleeping with Other People' and 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' - over the weekend. So many sexual assaults. Women grabbing men to kiss them or vice versa. No one said may I place my penis into your vulva? in the sex scenes.

In Saving Sarah Marshall, a newlywed wife goes down on her husband while he says no its immoral. Straight up rape porn.

[–]Dembara 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You wholly accept the hypocrisy?? Or you recognize it.

Recognize. I think it is wrong. I think doing that kind of thing purposely humorously should be fine regardless of sex.

[–]maluminse[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now convince those that control the msm of this.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You don't think there is something wrong with someone with immense power over your life and career using that power to force you into sexual activities?

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Force you? Sounds like different facts than what we see here. True the trick was a sort of force and Katy does have power over him. So it is sexual assault.

Unless youre equating forcible rape to the head turn peck on the lips.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unless youre equating forcible rape to the head turn peck on the lips.

Considering I didn't call this rape, there's no reason to even hint that I equate the two.

True the trick was a sort of force and Katy does have power over him. So it is sexual assault.

The trick was used to override his non-consent.

And Katy has A LOT of power over him right now and he couldn't completely say no. The little part he did say no, she completely ignored his lack of consent.

[–]ID00001 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thirty three year old man tricks a 16 year old contestant, starry eyed girl, who has literally never been kissed into a kiss when he is judging the event.

hetoo - stolen from post here.

He would get he's dick chopped off by the angry mob waiting near his car after the show

[–]Musician427 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

After Katy kissed him he went, “Does this mean I’m gay?”

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

It’s just another example of women’s apparently blithe ignorance of their capacity for hypocritical behavior. Why should she care? She won’t face any consequences for it.

I hadn’t thought about that Demi Moore video in quite a while. Now that I look at it again, it is pretty goddamn creepy.

I think everything else you’re talking about could easily fall under the heading of “made to penetrate.” I don’t expect to see justice on this issue on any large scale in my lifetime anymore. I will keep pushing for it anyway, in the hopes that some future generation of women will finally start taking men’s anger seriously.

"Introduction to the question about alcohol- and drug-enabled rape: “Sometimes sex happens when a person is unable to consent to it or stop it from happening because they were drunk, high, drugged, or passed out from alcohol, drugs, or medications.” However, in a telephone survey, some people may focus only on the question itself and let the introduction slide by.

Moreover, the introductory message ends with an advisory that may create more confusion: “Please remember that even if someone uses alcohol or drugs, what happens to them is not their fault.” Obviously, the intended point is that even if you got drunk, you’re not to blame for being raped. But this vaguely phrased reminder could also be taken to mean that it’s not your fault if you do something stupid while drunk or on drugs. "

The cdc asks if you had sex while under influence and assumes inability to consent.

They fail to ask the follow up question - of the times you had sex under the influence, how many times was your partner also under the influence?

It would likely be high like 90%.

To be fair and rationale those that have been raped b/c they were inebriated also raped their partner b/c they were also inebriated.

In the end, its a cluster fk of stupidity. All the way around. As you point out.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I had a relationship for two years with a woman who couldn’t seem to fuck me without being under the influence of one substance or another, which she always supplied. I still wouldn’t call it rape, though. I wouldn’t even say I didn’t enjoy it. I would say, though, that it almost always felt wrong. What the hell am I supposed to do with that? Where’s my metoo?

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Dude the vast majority of us would not be here without alcohol. Alcohol chills us out so we can all enjoy sex more. This culture is wacked.

Someone once said if you dont remember than youve been raped.

I said I live alone and woke up one morning to a half eaten burrito on my kitchen counter. My pants and clothes were covered in grease.

I dont recall eating that burrito at all. I mustve been forced to eat it.

The sexism is that no one mentions the assault on the man if he also had alcohol.

If two people are both wasted and go home together who raped who? The one with .001 less alcohol in their system?

No its called being an adult. If you get in a car wasted and wreck into a family its not the families fault b/c you were drunk and lacking in judgement.

Likewise if you get blotto and have sex with someone you normally wouldn't that's your poor judgement.

Of course there are facts which could make it a predator situation but this idea that carte blanche its sexual assault if there is alcohol involved is lacking in any reality at all.

[–]armed_renegade 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The human race wouldn't be here without alcohol. Medieval times they drank a weak wine so that the water they drank wouldn't make them sick.

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Love Trappist monks and their skill.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm with you. I have had some sex I've deeply regretted and been in a couple truly dicey situations. I'm not going to go after anyone involved, though. I truly hope they all get their shit together.

Seems like there are two kinds of people in this world: the ones who take responsibility for their actions and just deal with whatever happens to them, and the kind who blame everyone else for everything bad that ever happened to them. Right now, that latter group seems to be controlling the world. I have no idea why.

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I totally regret some of the women I was with.

But Im not going to back track and blame them b/c I voluntarily ordered, lifted to my mouth and then paid for too much alcohol.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here. I prefer to just move on. I don't know why others can't do the same. We're turning into a society of victims.

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Mens desire for fairness, justice, rationale thought.

[–]themolestedsliver 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I dream of a world where being a virgin as a male is no longer used as a slur whilst a girl being a virgin is seen as cute and pure.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don’t see anything wrong. He was going to kiss her cheek and she did it faster than him is what it looks like.

I’d feel the same if the genders were reversed.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the genders were reversed, his career would be over.

She has immense power over his career. Getting him to kiss her using that power is totally unacceptable. I mean, at least if the genders were reversed.

[–]BlockNotDo 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're right. There is nothing wrong with this.

The idea isn't to point out something wrong with the individuals involved. The idea is to point out the hypocrisy of feminists who claim that any action without prior consent is sexual assault, but then are silent when something like this happens.

Clearly, there was no request for consent - much less and affirmative response to such a request. So where are the affirmative consent hysterics? Have any of them done so much as to start a hashtag demanding Katy Perry be fired from American Idol?

[–]maluminse[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The way he falls back says it is scripted.

[–]maluminse[S] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most of those shows are. Scripted sexual assault. The director should be charged too.

Pretty good acting if it is.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]LoganBlade13 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Katy Perry's the best

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She is pretty hot, with hair imo.

Deepfakes are crazy. So real and its only been out a few months. In a few years whole movies can be made without the actor.

[–]Vance87 -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So did he bring it up to them that he had never kissed a girl? If Katy had asked him to kiss her on the lips I am sure he would have done it.

I understand that you are saying it’s a double standard, that people would be upset if the genders were reversed, but IMO I don’t want to live in a word where we equally freak out over a minor thing. You know?

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh of course she would have said yes If asked. Thats always justifiable.

Of course I know what youre saying. None of us should be offended if it was man or woman. But thats not the culture we live in. Grab a person you love and kiss them passionately? Rape Sexual assault!!

WW2 Navyman kissing a nurse after victory? Rape! Sexual Assault!

[–]Vance87 -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We aren’t going to solve anything behaving like them. It’ll just make things worse.

[–]maluminse[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not in reality. But expressing it in opposite terms makes them realize the hypocrisy.
