I checked the currency conversion 80 Euros =$99.19USD. A $100 dollar fine for commenting on a woman's appearance. Wow, talk about privileged.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's 80 Pounds

[–]Xorism 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

1 pound for every pound overweight

[–]manbruhpig 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That will be £80, please.

[–]SporkTornado 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

ok

The £80 (€90) fine is said to increase to £120 if it is not paid within two weeks and could increase further to £325 if payment is late.

80 pounds = $113.90 USD

120 pounds= $170.86 USD

325 pounds = $462.74 USD

Except this is going on in France, where they use the Euro.

Men face fines if they comment on a woman's body in France: 'infringes the freedom of movement of women in public spaces and undermines #selfesteem and the right to security': Men don't need self-esteem and have no rights. #mensrights @French_Gov http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5307773/Men-face-fines-80-comment-womans-body.html

Fun French Fact:

She can cheat on him, cuckold him with someone else's child, and not only is that OK, permissible, completely legal and above reproach, he can't ask for a paternity test. That's explicitly illegal.

Is everyone having fun yet?

Boy, France sure sounds like fun!

The real reason behind this is so when a woman has her rapist baby the husband or boyfriend is on the hook and not the country or the rapist

Not relevant to MRA per sey, but a while back they made it illegal to fire an employee in a company over 5 workers

That'll get women ignored. "Like my new dress?"

"So, how about this weather? I like this weather..."

[–]AloysiusC 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wow:

An £80 fine will be issued to anyone who behaves in a manner which 'infringes the freedom of movement of women in public spaces and undermines self-esteem and the right to security'.

Undermines self-esteem? Many women derive self-esteem from doing exactly what you're forbidding: namely complementing them on their appearance. Or just looking.

So now that looking but also not looking is covered, that means that it's impossible to behave in a way that you can be sure won't get you a fine. It's 100% down to subjective interpretation.

The £80 (€90) fine is said to increase to £120 if it is not paid within two weeks and could increase further to £325 if payment is late.

...

It is the brainchild of France's Secretary of State for Equality Marlene Schiappa, who lobbied for what she described as the everyday sexism in France to be addressed

..

The bill is expected to be presented to parliament next week after she and two other ministers - Minister of Justice, Nicole Belloubet, and Minister of the Interior, Gerard Collomb - cast their eyes over the final draft.

I can't decide if I want it to pass or not. Sure it's disgusting but it's also kind of amusing to watch people repeatedly throw the same dead canary into the same coalmine.

gotta love the sexism, i'd appreciate that law 10 years ago when i was bullied in school to the point of depression and isolation but i guess it's more important to protect women from men not treating them amazingly..

I don't have much sympathy for France given just by how much of a majority voted for this. I have sympathy for the poor fuckers who are stuck in these left wing shitholes that don't go along with them because I know what it's like but as for the rest of the people who voted for this and supported this? Fuck them, if Le Pen had been elected she would have pulled a Trump and just completely gotten rid of all of this nonsense by appointing people who wouldn't care about this sort of bullshit.

[–]masterm 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the intent was equality, it would be fine for anyone making any comment about someone's body in public

[–]QuasiQwazi 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Frenchmen are creative. They'll say 'melons are looking good today' to which his friend will say 'I'm suddenly hungry for figs'.

This is how the French got around draconian Nazi laws forbidding insults to character. I believe it as Picasso who called a general 'a horsefly biting a boil' or something. People are endlessly creative. Social engineering laws are pathetic.

GO YOUR OWN WAY

withdraw into your hobbies, careers, and male friendships. be polite and well-mannered towards women, but do not otherwise associate with them... or suffer the (brave new world's) consequences.

[–]rmbarnes 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

withdraw into your hobbies, careers,

Your career will provide money to fund the state. Go self employed and try and drop your tax payments with creative accounting.

[–]The__Tren__Train 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

make money from your career. use that money to invest in passive income-generating activities

live off dividends.

[–]The__Tren__Train 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

also, 'creative accounting' is a good way to get in a lot of trouble.. trust me, im a CPA.

the state provides a lot of services (that would be done better by private companies, but that's a whole other conversation)... so IMO, it's best to provide them with some tax revenue, but as little as necessary.

I think I'm a lot like Sargon in that if this shit gets pushed through to law and they keep putting people in jail for this sort of bullshit I am fully prepared to fight a civil war. Just in case, ib4 someone tries to claim I'm some lunatic out to kill people while they simultaneously ignoring the fact that European governments are putting people in jail over an internet post and are now targeting social interaction too.

Seriously though, what the fuck else are we suppose to do in this situation? Vote? In the UK it's especially bad because both our parties love pandering to SJWs and the police forces of our respective constituencies seem to be operating entirely by themselves.

There seems to be no interest in politics to ignore this constant hysteria that feminists are pushing.

[–]rmbarnes 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think I'm a lot like Sargon in that if this shit gets pushed through to law and they keep putting people in jail for this sort of bullshit I am fully prepared to fight a civil war

If they destroy the chances of beta males to get laid and have families, the SJWs will be removed. Once the average beta decides this feminism / SJWism has gone too far there won't even be a need to fight as such, everyone will just turn round and say no to the feminists. They have no enforcement power without men.

[–]Lethn 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Those male feminists aren't even that much of a problem, it's the legal side of things that aid them, because of how vague things are feminists can do whatever they want and for example cite Title IX to get innocent people thrown out of universities.

It's going to take a huge cultural shift and as I've said in other posts an actual revolution to stop these people. Supporting SJW policies should be something that should end your career as badly as a sex scandal.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I doubt it’ll be a cultural shift as much as a loss of Western cultural and economic hegemony over the rest of the world. It’s easy to forget that countries like Russia and China, which don’t have the greatest track record in terms of treatment of women, are vying to be the next superpower. They will call us weak, stupid, and whipped. And they will be right.

All this whinging about social justice and partisanship along demographic lines is doing is weakening us and making us ignorant of the fact that there are a lot of people in this world that aren’t crazy about us and would literally kill to be in our position.

[–]rmbarnes 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well what I mean is that when the average man believes that feminism is a threat to societ, feminism goes bye bye without a fight. There will be no war if this happens. Average man en masse vs feminists = tyson vs a small child. Men can just not follow rules / laws they deem to be feminist anymore. The legal side of things won't matter, as at the end of the day it generally falls to men to enforce these things.

[–]Blutarg 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think a war is an absolute last resort. If that's what Sargon is planning, he's an even bigger fool than I thought.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL no it isn't, but he did say awhile back that he'd be willing if that's what this is going to come to. I think though as long as more and more people start openly resisting them this sort of Orwellian government will crumble pretty quickly. They've only been able to get away with it so far because people have been letting them or aren't even aware they're doing it.

Jordan Peterson's interview was a big step towards that, it's gone absolutely viral now and people who normally only watch television have seen what feminists are doing so now things are going to turn around for sure.

[–]kartu3 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In other news:

So this is the first time I have noticed this but I just got about 2 inches of my hair cut off, a noticeable amount but no one but my female colleagues have commented on it. Is it just they don't know what to say? Or do they really not notice stuff like that. (reddit, ladies of science)

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow that's hilarious.

One says commenting on clothes is more acceptable, one says commenting on clothes is creepy, one says commenting on hair was a faux pas.

There is hardly any one consistent answer, meaning you're always gonna offend someone, even when not commenting.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Huh. Peterson was right when he suggested that all forms of male sexuality will be regulated by the state. I chuckled at the time, but I understand his concern more and more.

He said, she said, no due process. Once a few men get busted no one will talk to french women. Except rapeugees I love it.

Oh, right, got to have our daily reminder that only immigrants rape, and all of them do it. Because that's so relevant to men's rights.
