I have a roommate, let's call him Paul. And about 4 months ago, he shows me a picture of a short, barely skinny, brunette girl he's taking on a date. He's says she's so hot, she's in a sorority, and he's very lucky to be going on a date with her. She's what I would rate as a 5 on a good day, so I'm not really understanding how he's the lucky one.

Regardless of my personal opinion, Paul takes her out. They go to dinner, and then a movie, and he "secures the bag" after the 3rd date. This is where things start to get dicey. After they fuck, he shows me his cum stained bed and describes the experience, you know, like you do, I guess. And says he thinks he loves her. One night of that musty pussy and he's already proposing. Fuck me.

The next week he's texting her daily, filled with excitement of what this could become. I can see the fantasy being created in his mind of what their white picket fence will look like.

Then after a month of fucking the girl, the sex starts to taper off. How do I know this? He complains about it. All the time. But it's okay, he still loves her. One night I finally get to meet the princess and within the first 5 minutes of seeing how him and her interact with each other, I can tell that she hates his fucking guts.

Any joke, sexual innuendo, or even an attempt at touching her, gets met with extreme hostility. "Don't do that." She says. Or a snide "Stop." She doesn't look at him, joke with him, or even talk to him, unless it's about her.

He is what I would describe, a shell of his former self around her. What was once a funny, lively, outgoing man is now a supplicative, pleasing, nice guy trying to negotiate his way into having sex with her again.

I remember one week he was going to hang out with her, but she had already made plans to hang out with her sorority sisters. He tries one more time, this time involving dinner, and she wondrously doesn't have plans anymore.

He gets back to our apartment with her and their takeout, and me and my homie are chilling in the living room playing some Mario Kart. He sits at the kitchen table and she sits next to me and the homie on the couch. After he finishes his wings, he lingers over her and says he's going to his room to work on a project, asks her to join him. Avoiding eye contact with him, "When I'm finished with my wings, for sure."

She never joined him. He was in there for about an hour and the homie and I continued to fuck up some Mario Kart while she commentated our performance. Her and Paul go outside to say their goodbyes for the night and he comes back in and says "Guys, she kissed me on my lips and all over my forearm." Fuck me.

I mean it should be so obvious right? This girl is just using him for free meals and attention. She fucking hates him and he still convinces himself that he's happy. He's happy spending time with a girl who barely talks to him. He's happy spending time with a girl who doesn't have sex with him. He's happy spending time with a girl who only hangs out with him when some sort of monetary exchange is involved.

This is how guys get their lives ruined. They delude themselves into thinking that just being around their special girl is a magical experience and that it will all eventually work itself out in the end. He reminds me of my old self.

After the second month of hanging out with his girl, still no sex by the way, he asks her why she has an attitude and is sometimes bitchy to him. She says, and I shit you not, "I'm autistic." How he still hasn't figured out that she's completely full of shit is beyond me.

Eventually I tell him straight up that I don't like the way his "girl" is treating him. "She's just using you for free meals man, are you happy with that? Are you happy not having sex with her?"

He says, "Yeah, of course. She said she doesn't want to have sex with me because she doesn't want to seem easy. She said she's not there yet, but we'll eventually be there." Motherfucker the cat is already out of the bag. The deed is already done, it's too late to "try to not seem easy." If she didn't want to seem easy, she wouldn't have had sex with you. That's not how that shit works.

He is being blatantly manipulated by the words coming out of her mouth. This is why it's important to look at actions and not words.

Flash forward to this month, his girl is going to her sorority dance and he wasn't invited. She's going with another guy. He found a picture of the guest list and pairings and started fuming. He whipped out the whiskey and went to town. "Fuck this bitch, I'm done with her." He said. Finally, I thought to myself, he's waking the fuck up. No more free meals, no more wasting time, and no more complaining about this hoe.

Wrong. He confronts her and she gives the usual "avoid accountability, innocent little girl" response. "I don't even know him."

"Wait actually I do know him but I forgot to invite him."

"Actually I did invite him but he's for one of my girlfriends because she can't invite two guys."

You can see the truth trickling out in pieces here. If he kept going she probably would've said "I only kissed him." "It was just anal."

She eventually just gaslighted him. "This is your fault all of this is happening" clearly trying to place the blame on him rather than her, because he found damning evidence that shows that she's just some hoe.

After thinking about it for a day, Paul became sad at what consequences his actions had created, and decided to take responsibility for this whole ordeal. Great job Paul. Women are never in the wrong. Good boy.

Flash forward to today. The dance was last night. She went with the "other guy" and told Paul that she left the other guy after the dance and went to a friends house to cry all night and drink because she felt sooo bad about what she did to him. He believes her and all is well. "She does care about me," he said.

He's buying her dinner and flowers tonight, as well as a heartfelt apology. Probably still won't get to hit.
