Point out in your class that studies have consistently shown that most domestic violence is mutual, I.E both partners routinely physically abuse each other, that lesbians have far and away the greatest % rate of domestic violence, that women overwhelming constitute the landslide majority of non-reciprocated domestic violence (the biggest kind) usually against male victims and finally that women have routinely expressed identical motivations to men for committing intimate partner violence, rather than asymmetrical ones as the site claims.

You also might want to point out that given that society trivializes and excuses violence perpetrated by women while insisting that violence committed by men is always unacceptable and that if their basis that women's violence against men is "trivial" because it doesn't cause enough physical harm then most domestic violence perpetrated against women also fails to meet this same level of physical harm and should therefore be discounted.

My husband and I had a female roommate that was incredibly violent. She attacked our other roommate with a butcher knife. When my husband disarmed her, she threatened to fake injuries and have him arrested for battery. Needless to say, my husband and I were scared shitless and ended up not calling the police on her (it’s an incredibly long and convoluted story). She ended up removed from our home by deputies after her friend called her in to the suicide hotline.

During the time she lived with us, she threatened to have me gang raped and murdered. She also made implied threats to have my husband arrested for rape, which is why we were afraid to get law enforcement involved. We even reached out to our landlords and her mental health professionals, who refused to help us.

I stand by that it is an act of God that I’m not dead and my husband isn’t in prison.

The idea that women are only violent because they are victims is absolute bullshit.

Violence against women is definitely and overwhelmingly seen as being worse than violence against men. The irony is the second half of the paragraph above proves the point:

This is also meaningless wordplay meant to distract and derail. What does "on a societal level" mean anyway? It seems to be written in a way to justify and trivialize- a word they case- the actual occurrence of violence against men.
