Female only resort...because “men mess with the relaxing vibe.” Remember when men’s clubs said the same thing, and had protestors?

He's crazy if he thinks that.

[–]SexualHowitzer 28 points29 points30 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Obviously,

It's the classic police line. you should only be afraid if you have something to hide. So let us check everything.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just watch. I guarantee that someone is going to falsely accuse him and then he will rue the day when he ignored this issue.

[–]Kanonizator 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What do you mean "falsely"? Idris Elba sexually assaulted me 27 years ago and I'm willing to testify.

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points23 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He's a politically correct retard. Sooner or later, someone will accuse him and then his attitude will magically change.

[–]Clemicus 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends. He could throw himself on the sword. Usually when it's someone indoctrinated, both can't exist.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 15 points16 points17 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Here's the problem...he's factually and provably incorrect.

I'll even toss out an unpopular example: Brett Kavanaugh. We still have people insisting that he's a rapist because that's what he was accused of, but completely overlooking the fact that two of the women who accused him were proven to be lying and are being prosecuted for it. Like him or not, you can't deny he wasn't falsely accused...but say that in a feminist sub and you'll be instant banned.

[–]nikosteamer 9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imo thats a bad example, I don't believe Dr Ford was being truthful but a much better example is the Duke Lacross Case because it was absolutely Proven a false allegation .

[–]writerincanada -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

False. If you want to make an example of false allegations, using Brett Kavanaugh as an example is a very poor choice. The allegations were credible and any needed investigation into them was interfered with by the White House, which also coached Kavanaugh- so much for separation of powers in the US. Your statement "you can't deny he was falsely accused" has no merit.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Do you realize two of the women who accused him have admitted to lying about it?

[–]writerincanada 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ford's allegations merited an investigation. The White House put severe limits on that. That's unusual and significant interference. During a rally in Missouri the night before the midterm elections, President Trump, referring to Ford, said “the accuser of Brett Kavanaugh” has “admitted she never met him, she never saw him … it was false accusations, it was a scam, it was fake.” That statement from the US president was false. To muddy matters an anonymous letter was sent Oct. 3, two days before the Senate narrowly confirmed Kavanaugh, the judiciary committee got an email from- apparently from- Judy Munro-Leighton, in which she claimed to be “Jane Doe from Oceanside CA.” However, Senate investigators don’t know who wrote the original, anonymous letter that was sent to Harris’ office, they have concluded that it wasn’t Munro-Leighton. The third female, Deborah Ramirez, attended Yale with Kavanaugh and claimed he exposed himself to her. The severely limited FBI interviews did not substantiate the accusations by Ford or Ramirez — but they also did not show the accounts to be false. Your concluding the allegations were false and even recanted is not part of the record. Such allegations should undergo due process. In the Kavanaugh case deserved due process was interfered with at the highest level for political expediency.

Two insignificant mentally unstable hangers-on who nobody ever took seriously in the first place.

The two substantial allegations of Ford and dick-in-face girl still stand, regardless of what you think of them.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

regardless of what you think of the two women who recanted, they are high profile examples of false accusations leveled against a man

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Your claim is that people completely overlook the two recantations.
I see no evidence for that. Swetnick's accusation looked dodgy from very early on and the crazy anonymous email lady from Kentucky never had any credibility from day one.

The anonymous letter the anonymous email was copied from has not been recanted but it has about zero significance anyway.

All that stuff was discounted to start with, it did not add or subtract from the two substantial accusations against Kav.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your claim is that people completely overlook the two recantations.

I didn't claim anything of the sort, and that's not even remotely related to anything I was talking about.

[–]Sasha_ 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I bet he doesn't feel the same about black men who get radomly searched by the police.

[–]w1g2 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well, I'll be the first to say it... Idris Elba raped me. Now who else on this forum did he rape?

[–]Maito_Guy 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

metoo

[–]kaffirdog 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Accusations would likely be from a dude.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I shall go find a white chicken, black cow and yellow lizard. Do the moondance to appease the gods. By morning, he shall be accused

[–]Sinner12180[S] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Keep in mind the FBI estimates that 8% if accusations are dismissible...that means that the accusation was so easily dismissed there was no need to investigate at all.

The Innocence Project estimates 40% OF CONVICTIONS are false based on the rate they’ve cleared old cases using DNA

[–]darlingindanger 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, wont take long before some SJW accuses him out of anger for having the audacity to be a man that talks about #Metoo at all

[–]andejoh 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because women don't face repercussions for sexually harassing men?

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

If he didn't work in show business he'd have a similar chance of being charged for a false accusation as of getting hit by lightning in the US.

In the UK, the risk of a false accusation to police is about the same risk as of being raped by a man. Informal accusations are much less common outside the US because of libel laws.

So he's probably safe, as are all the other men who never give a thought to being falsely accused or hit by lightning or raped by a man.

[–]DignifiedAlpaca 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think you are being misled on this issue. You seem to be referring to the number of false accusations that are brought to trial:

https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-men-are-more-likely-to-be-raped-than-be-falsely-accused-of-rape

Undoubtedly, there will be other cases of false allegations being made where there was not enough evidence to bring a prosecution of wasting police time or perverting the course of justice. But we don’t have data to quantify this.

Overall, in the CPS’ view, false allegations of rape are "serious but rare". They estimate that there is one prosecution for a false rape claim out of every 161 rape cases prosecuted. That means — according to the best available data — false allegations make up 0.62 per cent of all rape cases.

This article discusses the number of false accusations including those not brought to trial:

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2009/10/how_often_do_women_falsely_cry_rape.html

While most of the good studies converge at a rate of about 8 percent to 10 percent for false rape charges, the literature isn't quite definitive enough to stamp out the far higher estimates.

False charges of rape are an absolute nightmare for the men caught in their net. And the specter of made-up allegations is a real problem for law enforcement—which means they are also a problem for women who are telling the truth.

Even if a false rape accusation doesn't make it to trial, the accusation can still ruin the reputation of the accused and contribute to the problem of real victims not being believed.

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I did my own calculation from scratch using BJS numbers.
Roughly 100k rape reports a year, 500 lightning hits, 8% false reports, 2/3 of them accusing a named man.
That gave 11x the chance of false accusation to police, compared to being hit by lightning in the US.

Most of those men do not have their life ruined. Most reports to police do not even result in a man being interviewed. It is hard to have your life ruined if the false allegation does not even result in police calling you in for an interview.

Analysis of detected false reports shows 1/4 to 1/2 of them are not allegations against an identifiable individual. And most of them are picked up without even interviewing an accused.
The great majority of the rest are detected without making an arrest, leaving just a few detected before trial and very few that make it through to trial.

Only 4% of police reports end up being referred to prosecutors, so it is twice as likely to be hit by lightning as falsely prosecuted for rape.

Life-wrecking consequences can arise without even reporting to police but in the US being arrested is likely to be where long term problems start to occur.

[–]DignifiedAlpaca 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

That gave 11x the chance of false accusation to police, compared to being hit by lightning in the US.

11x is a pretty big difference in my mind.

As for the rest of what you are saying, look, I get that there are other bad things that are more likely to happen to me in life than having my life ruined by a false accusation. But that doesn't mean it isn't an issue. You sound like you are suggesting that I honestly should be okay with being accused of something I didn't do.

I see the #MeToo movement being used regularly in the media to brand men as being miserable scum even though I would never do anything to hurt anyone.

My issue with the#MeToo movement is not the fact that there is a movement trying to combat sexual assault; there should be a movement like that. My issue is that the movement has essentially declared war on me and half the people I know. It is promoting mass hysteria and a sense of mob justice. That makes it more than a little bit difficult for me to take it seriously.

[–]DignifiedAlpaca 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He is Kafka trapping. I have no respect for these people for acting this way.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hopefully a week, hate people with that mindset.

[–]MelkorHimself 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How long until he’s the victim of a false accusation?

The line is a month. I'll take bets on the under/over.
