Both are in their mid-30s. They are doing well professionaly and financially but it seems they are miserable on the inside (one spends money on expensive stuff, numbs himself with Instagram reels, and eats a lot while the other drinks and smokes a lot).

I don't want to end up like them. I'm 27. On the one hand I've never been on a relationship. On the other hand I want to. But I've felt that I've always been single and this has been the source of my misery. And yet what if I do find someone and I still end up miserable because they end up leaving me? It would only lead to further disillusionment and cynicism and I don't want to be in that spot when (and if) I reach that age. What do I do now?
