Normally I don't pay attention to celebrity relationships, but the conversation came up when a friend of mine, who is a hardcore fan of Taylor Swift was idolizing her relationship with her boyfriend.

One of the notable comments my friend made was that (Taylor) was in a relationship, that was about 4, to 5 years long. I asked her if she was engaged, but my friend said; no. Fans always keep speculating that they will be, and Taylor herself has gone on to write tracks about how she would marry him even if he proposed with a paper ring. Another lyric about "offering" her womb, or something. She'll have kids with him.

I just found it interesting that a celebrity such as herself, who has romanctized and idolized this relationship (not just her fans) compared to her previous relationships still hasn't had the question popped to her yet.

I'm curious on what people think. 5 years in my opinion isn't a good sign. It happened to a friend of mine, she dated a man for 10-years, no ring. When they forcibly did get married to move to another country, they didn't last a year; divorce. She did think Calvin Harris was 'the one' once upon a time, according to my fan friend.

Maybe it's different though for British men - and because she's a celebrity. Because a few years in Hollywood, means a lifetime, apparently. But then I still wonder if the same theories; celebrity factor doesn't matter. Considering Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgens was in a relationship for over 6 years. No ring. Soon as he met his co-star for a different role. Vanessa was dumped. From what I heard in Taylor's case too, that her and her boyfriend were "cat and mouse" for months, and it sounds like Taylor actively pursued him.

What's everyone's thoughts?

Seems like even celebrities who have it all, looks, money, etc. still deal with the same old. Oof.
