I asked her for our turbo tax file from last year and she's making a big deal of it. We have to file this year's taxes still and I wanted the file so I could load it into the software for good comparison information. She's a CPA and she's done our taxes for the last 20 years. I just asked for the file. She says I she doesn't believe me when I say I want to be amicable as she believes I can only be amicable if I get what I want.

Well, I'm willingly and voluntarily paying her child and spousal support today (we don't have an official order as we decided to mediate and we 'assumed' what the court would order if we went that route).

I get to take home $210.

I have at least paid my bills, my mortgage and such but if she thinks me taking home $210 from my paycheck is 'what I want' she's pretty fucking mistaken.

I was even going to let her do our taxes this year because she knows them best, she has the best chance of maximizing our return and that would put the most cash in my pocket (which I would just be handing right back to her to offset the house buyout) or the least cash out of my pocket.

$210.

Top it all off, I had saved myself a pop tart and my oldest ate it. I was looking forward to that pop tart. He doesn't even like that flavor.

Edit to clarify: As much as I absolutely AM getting shafted - the reason I'm only taking so much out of today's pay check is because I'm paying support from last month's commissions out of this check as well. I do have a very good lawyer who is absolutely helping me keep as much of my income as I can. That being said - No fault is bullshit. She was unfaithful and she is profiting from it. It really was a little disingenuous for me to frame it that way - it's one way to look at it since I've paid all my bills already for the month and all I had left to pay was support so I just took it all out of one check. It's not EXACTLY that situation. That being said - I do pay much more than I want to. Next month my commissions are going to be astronomical and I'll probably be writing her a check for $7k because of it. I'm not happy about it but she thinks she's the one being screwed.

I get commissions monthly and so I have to pay support out of my salary as well as commissions. These are separate amounts and there isn't much I can do about it even if we ended up in court. She forced the SAHM gig and I did not leave when she did it and so now I will pay for that choice for the next decade at least.
