This is from a website that lets you fill out a test to see where you align in term of political beliefs. I came across this question and saw one of the options excluding men. It's almost like their lives are seen as worthless and anything that happens to them doesn't matter.

No it's because most terrorists and muslims who want everyone to conform to their beliefs through violence are Muslim men. Is there reason for this? Yes. Does that mean we should do what France is doing and risk cartoonists being beheaded by an idiot? No, fuck no.

We shouldn't generalize and make assumptions based on race, religion and gender.

By a lot of people Muslim men are seen as more dangerous then Muslim women or children 🤷‍♂️

It's completely fucked up but it's reality.

Thing is, Black/White/Mexican, Men will always been seen as more dangerous

[–]WhenIsItOkayToHate 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, and that is understandable, there is a way to head that fact without bigotry.

[–]hectorgarabit 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because they are... look at what is happening in Europe. Germany, Sweden, France. The cohabitation is not going smoothly. Single Muslim men see European or Canadian or American woman as sluts due to their clothes and habits. It looks s a legitimate fear, the cultural difference is hard to overcome.

[–]Vandechoz 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is how international organizations (UN, WHO) as a whole tend to think

[–]Blauwpetje 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is also because some people believe many Muslim men flee and leave their families behind, and they think that unacceptable behavior. The story may be a fable, but I think that's what is mostly behind this option.

See what happens when food is distributed by the UN in aid situations..

There's a ton of them.

Go look at how people talk about Swedish immigrants.

This is one of the key reasons why I distrust the right. They'll pretend to care about men but demonize them as soon as they get the chance.

It's a horrifying mix of islamophobia, misandry and feminism that should be called out but isn't.

[–]AskingToFeminists 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, malagency is at play. It's why feminism had absolutely no issue crushing traditionalists, who are powerless in front of them.

[–]Enzi42 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Definitely the problem with the right. Well...one of the gender-related problems with the right.

I will going to go against my usual grain and say that there’s no “feminism” in this. Just a rancid stew of misandry, racism and fear-politics. I’d actually argue it’s the opposite of feminism in some ways—I’m not sure about how this is spoken of in Canada but you mentioned Swedish immigrants and I’m familiar with what people say online. “Scary foreign men coming to harm your women” has been a rallying cry for communities all over the globe long before feminism. That’s as traditional as it gets.

I’m not even close to defending feminism or feminists; I think they’re an anti male movement. I just feel like in this case the enemy isn’t feminism but other forces at work.

[–]AskingToFeminists 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not the opposite of feminism. It's its ancestor. I made a post about that a while ago.

[–]Omar-Elsayed 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's bad. Even in charts and statistics showing victims of calamities and such, men are excluded when they usually make up the most victims. It's like they don't even matter.

[–]Neveah_Hope_Dreams 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

IKR? It's really weird.

This is something that I'm very uncomfortable and non-trusting about right wingers. The complain, bitch and moan about Middle Easter immigrants and just see everything as negative. It's honestly so tiresome seeing them cry about it and just have this very anti non-trusting attitude towards Muslims. Even Muslims that are nice and lovely and are not violent at all. It's so cringey.

That was Hillary Clinton's position, as I surmised from the final debate.

She wanted "extreme vetting" (which is impossible in war-torn Syria) but insisted that she wouldn't let women and children waiting at the gate.

They have been refusing single men since 2015 : https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/nov/23/canada-syrian-refugee-resettlement-plan-no-single-men

We are not far from the eugenics of the 1930s in which the societies of the time sought to get rid of their undesirables.

It's called feminazi for a reason!

[–]36Celsius 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this sound like Canada immigration

[–]pacsatonifil 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that is crazy. Women can be radicalized just the same. If you are allowing refugees then allow them as individuals don't make assumptions about them. I'm an atheist and strongly against religion, but I don't think we should ban Syrian men just because they are single. That is sexist and it should be illegal. If they are in need of asylum it shouldn't matter if they are in a relationship or not.

[–]Neveah_Hope_Dreams -4 points-3 points-2 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. Because apparently the refugees that are causing the most havoc and danger are Muslim men from the Middle East. But it's understandable why because in those areas rape is legal and it's a place where it's okay to treat their wives and women like rubbish and objects. So it's no surprise that they bring that upbringing and culture to the places they move to. And of course they see more rights to do so as women outside of the Middle East do not cover up entirely and don't get controlled on what to wear. Sad and messed up but true. And it shows that women's rights in the Middle East needs way more awareness and support. Which is something that Western feminists don't talk about, rather than their personal first world issues.

There's actually a documentary on Youtube about these classes being held in Norway to teach Middle Eastern Muslim men how to treat women so they can settle into Norweigan culture. It's interesting and messy. And whatever you do do not go into the comment section. It is full of toxic drama.

Yes, it’s actually a pretty common idea from conservatives
