Hopefully not so unpopular opinion: "Feminists" who think women should be treated better than men (just because they are women) arent feminists, they are sexists!

Here's a little fact for you:

Feminists who don't hate men or avoid participating in advocacy that is detrimental to men? They're not welcome in the movement. Period.

I'll cite some examples:

Warren Farrell: Began as a feminist and was originally a part of N.O.W. During his run, he was in demand for speaking engagements and appearances at events dedicated to Women's Rights. Also earned a high salary on a regular basis for his work. The minute he started examining Men's Issues is when suddenly he found being a part of N.O.W a very uncomfortable working environment and left. His speaking engagements dried up and his hefty salary was no more. Additionally, those same feminists he allied with began smearing his reputation by citing an old article he wrote on Incest and claiming he favoured it when that was far from the case at all. To this day, his work has been scrubbed from history and feminist activists stormed a University of Toronto gig he had to prevent people from seeing him.

Erin Pizzy: Founded and ran the world's first Women's Shelter. When she started delving into abusive relationships and found that a majority of them were reciprocal (her female clients possessed dangerously violent, retaliatory behaviour equal to that of their abusers), she was banned from her own shelter and harassed out of her home country of England by feminist groups who were moving in and taking over the burgeoning domestic violence industry. This was in the 70s.

Christina Hoff Sommers: Classic, old-school feminist. She was the first to notice how boys were failing in the school system and that feminism was becoming the antithesis of equal rights. Wrote a book on each subject. You can guess what happened: Blacklisted, blackballed, and slandered with much of her opponents using her connections with a conservative organization as justification to discredit her opinions. She's no longer considered a feminist by the ideology itself.

Cassie Jaye: Feminist actor and documentary maker. Men's Rights Activism caught her interest and became the focus for her next film. In seeking out funding, major feminist organizations refused investing in the project when they found she was willing to present a neutral view instead of the standard clickbait hit piece that was en vogue. However, Men's Rights Groups, including those at A Voice For Men, picked up the slack and made it all possible for her to realize her plan to fruition. On the road, promoting the finished product called "The Red Pill", she faced mounds of harsh opposition from feminist minded journalists and interviewers, the peak of it when she stopped in Australia where cinemas were pressured into pulling the film from their marque schedules from feminist groups. After the cruel treatment towards her character and reputation by people she once allied with, she no longer considers herself a feminist. You can even see her gradual transformation in the film itself.

Now, consider what I've shared and you'll learn why hardly anyone would be automatically open to giving the word "Feminist" anything but unbridled, contemptuous expressions of anger and rage.

If these non-feminists were merely sexists, I'd understand your pleas. But as you can see, they also occupy powerful positions in government, media and educational institutions. We're not talking about obscure blogists with paltry followings here. The lunatic fringe infiltrated every aspect of our lives and won, pushing all those reasonable feminists out.

I would like to add that many Men Rights Activists, like Warren Farrell, were former Feminists themselves. And like him can attest to the vilification one receives when even mentioning Men's Issues in feminist circles behind closed doors.

Well...yeah, pretty much. Theres a reason that majority of women the world over disagree with modern feminism. Feminism has had its problems from its inception, but in the past thirty or so years, its become increasingly hostile and dogmatic.

Feminists had to explain why most women didn't like it, so they came up with 'internalized misogyny'. The idea that women will hate themselves just to stay on the side of patriarchy. Which any decent psychologist can tell you, if that were true, the female suicide rate would not be less than a third the rate of men.

They leverage the fact people care about women and take advantage of that for their own gain a lot. I've been called sexist, misogynist, etc a ton on the internet in the past five or so years. But in reality i have the greatest respect for women, as most of the best people in my life, have been women. Do i believe women have problems? Of course. Do I think there should be gender quotas for jobs. No, but its telling that there are no quotas for male nurses, teachers or anything female dominated, even though some of them are in high demand.

The problem with modern feminism is it is now so large, has political power, support and on the surface, if you support feminism, you are seen as supporting women, which do things like spend the majority of wealth in the world. In many ways, it has become a religion for the modern age, including witch hunts(fortunately not actual lynching just yet), riots(see mexico, including fuckin Molotov cocktails) and calling out the heretics. Since there is no separation of feminism and politics, it has infested itself quite successfully and the bias is real.

The policy in London is that women do not get jailed for the same crimes as men. Ostensibly this is because it apparently affects them more and has a bigger impact on families and the reasons behind their crimes are more things like drugs and whatnot. The citation they give for this is....an article with no citations, no studies, no nothing. It is a 100% sexist policy put into place because they wanted to.

I'm for equality of opportunity, you want to do something, have the ability to and drive to, go for it. I don't care if you're a man, woman, hermaphrodite, trans, disabled, white, black or green.

I also think that men and women, at least in general, should be treated almost the same. I can't say exactly because there will always be differences, but for the most part, the same, sure. But according to the protestors at the Men's March in Melbourne(and a chunk of people online), I am a 'Homophobic, Misogynistic White Supremacist Nazi'. Oh, and Alt-Right, which seems to be about 70% of people in existence.

I highly dislike when people call themselves feminists. ~~when~~ they are just being sexists. Feminism is about ~~equality and not~~ female superiority. They ~~ruin the reputation of feminism and~~ bring even more unfairnes and sexism to this world.

Yeah, I keep seeing people write this but not one of you do anything to put a stop to it and you only ever come here to the 'NotRealFeminism' routine. You ether fix the movement or stay out of my way, I've gotten really fed up of feminist apologists that keep coming to this sub because inevitably they're here to try and lecture us for pointing out that these people exist.

Yes the real feminists decided that men that are behind with child support payment should not get any relief money so by extension the children of that guy will not get any.The hate against men is so high that they prefer children and the mothers get no money at all than to give some fathers money.

MRA was founded by former feminist activists that no longer wanted to be associated with feminism.Quite the contrary. It is not like these men and women don't know what is feminism and what it promotes today.
