Personally, I'd seek legal assistance, and try to let others (who will believe you) know, making this as big as possible. Bring the light to this. People will be more likely to come forward and support you.

Most of all, though, I'd still contact a lawyer. Definitely clear your name, and demand compensation from the school AND her.

Fuck I don’t have any specific advice, but Fight Fight Fight, individuals, groups/organisations and especially the News media need to be held responsible for providing incorrect information

A personal bug bear I have is the lack of integrity and responsibility by the media misusing the rights media have but then never correcting things especially when things are so wrong They should be held responsible for just not only correcting the story/narrative but also pointing it out who was wrong from the accuser to the police to the courts and their own reporters and what was done wrong etc if that’s the case

For sure if you believe the school outed you as a rapist and participated in defamation of character without legitimate evidence then they could be sued for such acts.

Honestly though, if you aren’t one of those people where, everything in your life is totally ruined because of this accusation then I think it would be better, and likely harder, for you to just move on.

Everyone goes through challenges in their life and I believe that they are a form of a test from a superior power that is not in our control, I’ve been homeless before and severely overweight and I was the child that grew up extremely and excessively bullied to which some kids out there today even kill themselves over.

I became homeless because my parent’s home was illegally foreclosed on by the bank and that was in 2016, today my mother as sick as she is is still fighting a legal battle over it in the hopes that at some point there will be a good outcome or a settlement. And in the meantime the attorney still takes money from us regularly for his work.

Overcoming these challenges has been a big part of my late teens and early 20’s and consumed a lot of time and has taken a great deal of patience and understanding. You don’t get to choose what difficulties in life are presented to you, you can only hope that they aren’t as bad as they are led to be and that you can surpass them.

Sure, you can work very hard and consume a lot of your time to find an attorney for a revenge lawsuit. You may even sue the woman responsible, and win. But all you’d get is a judgement in court and on her credit report. You’d also still have to continuously pay the attorney because it’s very unlikely one would do something like a revenge lawsuit on contingency and that’s mostly because it’s unlikely you’ll ever see a substantial monetary result.

Although it may seem foolish and like something that a weakling would do.

Getting over it, and that means fully moving on. Starting anew and releasing your painful past. Shows how strong you yourself can actually be and you more than likely will find greater success in your future for having done so. Even greater than before you had to undergo this unfair punishment.

Even if it takes moving to a different town or working a different job, all you should do is have the court records sealed and move on. Continuing to drag yourself back through it over and over again is only going to darken the life you have around you and inside you.

You may just find yourself in your future at some point. And there may be a time where someone asks you if you want to go to a party, and then you’ll pause for a moment and think about what you have and what your current importance’s are. You’ll then turn that person down and continue on living for yourself and whomever you are there to protect.

Because by then you’ll have learnt from your trials in the past. Mistakes and hardships are lessons that we can better ourselves with.

I hope you take some of this into account before you choose to embark on a long, dark, and likely fruitless road, simply to appease a thirst for an eye for an eye.

Maybe start a go fund me page. Now that you are innocent you should be able to do so to a degree. With funding at least you can afford a lawyer to assist you?

Go see a psychologist to get yourself diagnosed for potential damages from this false accusation. Doesn't matter if you have trouble sleeping, anxiety or are depressed, get it on record.

You should file a title IX complaint against the title IX department, which would be kinda funny. I'm sure there are a number of civil causes of action, against the school for defamation and malicious prosecution, against the accuser for abuse of process. File ethics complaints with the state bar against any attorney involved who you think committed misconduct.

That's just off the top of my head. Thats mostly just common law, a local attorney could find more stuff specific to your jurisdiction. Hope you get some justice!

I had a very similar experience. A girl I met at a conference accused me of harassing her (not even rape!) on that conference. She filed 5 harassment lawsuits. Lost friends, lost girlfriend, lost job. Conference organizers wont even go as witnesses, because that would help me. I became a pariah. The government officer handed me a confession, if I signed it I will be free, will do 5 months conditional prison and it will be over (this is for harassment, allegedly I followed her to a conference). I said no, I did nothing.

2 years later, 30000 usd (my life savings) in lawyers later, I won the case. Im innocent.

Friends wont come back, girlfriend wont come back. Time wont come back. Justice dont exists, her feminist friends are not angrier at me, because I won. I represent something that they hate with all her guts, a man thats innocent. They still harass, they call my employers, they harass my family. Its a nightmare. But this is my life now. So be prepared, this will never end. There is no justice for falsely accused men right now, you have to swallow it. Maybe in the future.
