Unwanted by whom? A woman fishing a condom out the bin and abusing a turkey baster would result in an unwanted pregnancy (unwanted by the man, hence discarding the used condom), but it wouldn't be his fault now, would it?

Of course, they don't care about that because it would require acknowledging women's agency.

But men can cause pregnancy 365 days a year.

The window of conception is actually just over a week, sperm can live for a few days plus the day or two that the egg remains viable.

(Edit: There's also multiple layers of fuckery going on here, aside from not understanding how conception works

First is the idea that because men produce sperm constantly but women only ovulate once a month that men are somehow more responsible for conception.

Secondly, painting ejaculation as entirely voluntary (i.e. ignoring men's consent) and ovulation as entirely involuntary (hormonal contraceptives work primarily by preventing ovulation).

It does take two, for all pregnancies (excluding rape, of course. I shouldn't need to say it...). Denying that women play a part, even in unwanted pregnancies, is to deny their agency, their bodily autonomy, their free will, their ability to control their desires, and the fullness of their humanity in that they too can make mistakes and bad decisions. It's incredibly misogynistic and infantilising. /edit )

Modern birth control is possibly the greatest invention of the last century, and I am very grateful for it. It’s also brutal. The side effects for many women are ridiculously harmful. So ridiculous, that when an oral contraception for men was created, it wasn’t approved…

… because of the side effects. And the list of side effects was about 1/3 as long as the known side effects for women's oral contraception.

Bringing back this old bullshit, smh. Not only is that not what happened with the male contraceptive, but there are non-hormonal options for women that don't have the "brutal, ridiculously harmful" side effects.

We men have almighty power on this issue and I am never going to plumb the depths of dogma so deep I suggest men throw it away.

We have the magic bullet. Its ours. Its called a condom. We wear it. Women don't (not talking about the female condom here).

The condom prevents both disease and pregnancy. Its on us. We can wear it with ease. We can check it with ease even during intercourse. We can make sure its on, and unbroken.

And dudes, always carry water based lube with your condoms. And put your condoms in hard protective containers when carrying.

Only once in my life did I trust this to a woman. It was my first time. I was drunk. I had no condom and she said she was on the pill. I was a fool. I consider myself lucky I got no disease and did not become a father.

Ever since then I trust a woman for NONE of this. Its the only way to protect myself. I NEVER put my semen in a vagina unless I want kids, a ball, and a chain.

So, you think I am going to have any mercy on a man when he could have taken these basic and simple steps to protect himself? No.

We men CAN prevent ALL unwanted pregnancies (barring rape). Also, we men CAN create pregnancies women don't want left and right if we so desire, and some men do.

Don't ditch your power in pursuit of some gendered propaganda dogma or an attempt to get one over on the feminists.

Half the time I will even pull out while using a condom just to be sure. I win....every...single...time.....even if she wanted my baby...even if she begged me for to not use a condom....nope...I own the outcome...and anyone trying to disempower me through suggesting women have some responsibility too can take a hike. They got none because I give them no power.

Ohh yeah i saw this. I thought it was a unwillingness to take responsibility and in their blindness to solve the abortion debate in US decided to go after the wrong things. Stuff like this only adds to the lack of credibility that they have. But they think it's okay.
