The irony of using abstinence to fight for abortion. Is mildly amusing, if a little infuriating. You're so close to dealing with the root of the problem yet you don't see past your nose.

Furthermore i doubt that tactic would even be effective nowadays.

Women to men: help us keep abortion rights (while you still have none) or we won't have sex with you.

Part of the reason Roe v Wade was overturned (tentatively anyway) is because it does not give equal rights to men.

The supreme court draft cheekly implies that women already have more rights and more political power than men. And this is one of the reasons that the equal protection clause does not apply to this case.

Moreover, legal scholars have known for decades that Roe v Wade was a flawed ruling and that it would get overturned if they never addressed that.

This paper from 2005 argues that giving men equal rights to women is one of the hurdles that stands in the way of fixing the shaky foundation that abortion rights stand on:

What really astounds me here is how posts in twoxc are framed as "look at what the evil men are doing!", as if this wasn't something that men sympathized with or as if there weren't just as many women out there opposing this bill and pressuring men to do the same. As if women didn't vote for the very politicians opposing these bills or didn't pressure their representatives into taking action against this bill.

They are clearly going out of their way to somehow paint men, as a gender, as the enemy of women, when not only is that not the case but an entirely destructive and hateful lie to pursue as well. There are so many women who are clearly using this as an excuse to lash out against men, or just to perpetuate more misandry. This type of feminist coping mechanism is getting really tiresome. It's played out.

It also clearly demonstrates, once again, how twoXC was never really a place for fair/balanced discussion, and was always a place that was meant to be a breeding ground for misandry. If the mods had the slightest hint of integrity, they would have done something about it.

It's not a zero sum game. You can be pissed and support women and fight for men's issues at the same time.

These blood sports about who is more deserving of support help no one. You support people because it's the right thing to do, not because you want your back scratched too.

Everything you said is valid. And I support that. But I'm still going to support women in this fight for abortion rights. Because rights are rights.

I was told today that I shouldn't speak for women when I was trying to defend women only spaces in sports, on reddit ofcourse.

I said I spoke on behalf of my girlfriend as I had expressed what she had told me and that everyone should be allowed to speak for everyone, but if she doesn't want me to speak for women, then she shouldn't speak for men. She said my argument is as weak as my balls (yay, sex related insults!).

Prior to this, and now, apparently men should be doing more.

I am not a feminist nor a woman, but you cannot win. You will be blamed for everything, you oppose, you're the problem, you don't do anything, you're the problem, and even if you do try to defend something, you are still the problem. You either didn't do enough or you shouldn't speak for women.

TwoXChromozones is Toxic AF,It filled with Hypocrisy, double standards, and some pretty horrific stories and people looking for support which is good. But if you're a man on there and you try to be supportive it's often dismissed and disregarded as "FAKE"

There are toxic women, but why are you focusing on them? Most women are not terrible people, and we (humans) should attempt to be better as a collective. You should support attempts to rectify injustice for any subset of people, whether the issues are related to gender, race, age, wealth, etc.. And every one of those subsets has assholes, but why punish all of them for the few?

Not only that, but also having all these issues blamed on you as if you have the power to pass laws and dictate social norms.They will blame men's issue on the patriarchy when really feminist have either played a major role or may even be solely responsible for men's issues.The Duluth model, Tender years doctrine, and Mary p koss downplaying female on male rape are a few examples.Feminist gaslight and try to silence men whenever they speak about men's issues.Also, I doubt they would apply the " men do it to themselves" logic in cases were women oppose women's right.Like when the female governor of Alabama signed a bill restricting abortion, or when other women defend the practice of fgm.Everything is always men's fault to them and women are always the victims of men.

He is obviously enraged and thinks it is wrong, but keeps just saying stupid stuff like vote or this won’t really affect us. Is anyone else already made to feel like they are over reacting?

I am in a blue state, and I’ve never really considered leaving until now. My partner keeps telling me because we are in a blue state we will be fine. It reminds me of that famous poem “ First they came”

It kind of sounds like her boyfriend is outraged and trying to calm her down with something actually productive. The thing about them being in a blue state is an important point -- no, it doesn't change the situation, but at least she can know that she and (presumably) her family members will be OK. No matter what he says he's an asshole to her though because she feels powerless and needs someone she can point the finger and be angry at. He's clueless for how to help her and she's borderline shouting at him for not doing enough.

Poor guy. Hope he figures it out soon.
