I would chalk this up and move on. Most guys, don’t want to be a backup plan, or better yet: option number two, three, five, etc., especially when you’re the one that broke up with him. You reaching back out to this guy tells him that, he isn’t good enough and that your main option didn’t work out, so let me be the bottom of the barrel option for you, until you find my next replacement.

Also, I like how you said you don’t want to use guys for free meals because most guys have a hard time getting a date to begin with. If he realizes that he’s just a foodie-call, he will eventually break it off with you and possibly be reluctant to take any girl out to dinner until she’s his girlfriend/wife. Not to mention, some guys could be belligerent if they find out about this, so I applaud you for saying you don’t want to use guys for free meals.

If all fails and you have no idea what to do: be a nice person who has standards and boundaries.

I'm assuming this guy was an average guy. You were probably the only girl he was talking to. He is probably a loyal guy with a decent job. So yea, you probably messed it up. But this guy will probably allow you back in his life, possibly for the long term, but most likely just for sex.

Manipulative or transactional behavior trying to "get him back" by paying him for dates and using sex as a bargaining chip is not the way to go. Trying to manipulate or buy someone's affection is definitely an unhealthy approach to a sustainable relationship. It's time to let him go and focus on your own health issues. Go to the GYM, love yourself, and focus on improving your relationship "value"

People go back to each other all the time. But you only went on three dates, it’s not like it was a relationship. There are plenty of other guys out there. BUT the whole idea of paying him and sleeping with him is insane. You really need to consider taking a break from dating and working on yourself and your confidence and finding better dating advice. I can’t imagine a single man I know taking a woman’s money or sleeping with her after that.

I agree that paying for meals and offering sex off the bat in order to make him want you is ill advised. I think a compromise would be maybe offering to pack a romantic picnic for a date or cooking dinner. It’s still offering a meal because we all like food, but it also shows real interest and thoughtful care towards him as a man.

Full text: I (25F) was dating this guy and then broke up with him to hook up with someone else. I had been dating multiple people but broke it off with all of them because I didn't want to do the the Alpha male/Beta meal ticket thing they talk about over at TRP, where women will go on sexless dinner dates with some guys and then hook up with others.

However I feel like I lost a good guy. While he did have flaws, I'm not sure I should have broken it off with him.

I was thinking of getting him back. First, I would get him back by paying him for the dates he paid for for me and having sex immediately with him once he took me back to make sure he stayed.
