I'm noticing a lot of posts on social media where some women in particular find men in pain to be a turn on. That alone is pretty disturbing to me, but I don't think too much about it. What bothers me is that they specifically mention the sounds of men being in pain most often. It's usually about fictional characters, so it doesn't seem like a big deal, but the wording they use just really irks me. They don't go for a euphemism to show that the sounds of pain a man makes is a turn on for them is a good thing, they just say "whimpering." When I picture whimpering, I think of a traumatic situation, I think of a dog in extreme pain/sadness, I think of something that I would never wish upon anyone. Why would they choose that word to describe what turns them on? It's kind of disturbing that people can say this out loud and have millions agreeing with them while noone questions it. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but it just disturbs me when I see it pop up. It's something I thought of as a joke at first, but it's clearly not. Does anyone else find this disturbing?

Edit: Looks like the consensus is that I'm looking too much into it. I did think about it in a BDSM context, but it just didn't feel like this kind of thing was BDSM. That being said, I'm not into that so maybe I just don't understand it. It's just that usually the most common thing I see is when it's a character in a game on low health, something like Leon from resident evil being on the verge of death. In that situation, I just never really associated it with something that could be sexual. But again, I see that I just didn't understand their point of view.
