Hello ladies, I make this post because I really don't have anyone to talk about it.

Context: I met my current partner a month ago (I even made a post about it on here), we were talking online for 7 months prior to meeting in person. The chemistry was amazing since the very first day we had real life contact. We both are very happy and in love, we are exactly what we both were looking for and have talked about all the serious stuff, we agree on all the important things.

However, I am a bit concerned about the following. I am still friends with my ex. We ended our relationship a year ago, and I decided to get over it before even starting dating again. He on his side seemed to be very indifferent about the breakup since the very beginning. So we decided to stay as friends, because we have intellectual interests in common, like to share memes, and catch up with our lives now and then. I must mention he lives in another continent lol so all our interactions are through texting. (And even if we were living in the same country, I would definitely never meet up with him.)

Everything was okay until I finally made my new relationship public. My ex had a mental breakdown, apparently he still hadn't overcome the relationship but he hadn't realized that until now. He is in a very bad place mentally, has no friends nor support from his family. I feel sorry for him so we've been texting more often the past few days. But I have started wondering if this is right? is it right to stay friends with an ex when you're in a relationship? My boyfriend has never asked me about my previous relationship, nothing. So I was wondering if I should just be straightforward and tell him about this or if I should mention it at all (if he asked of course I'd tell him but he has never brought the subject up). I don't want to create unnecessary drama, so I don't know how is the best way to approach this.
