Was in ED with a 12.2 mm kidney stone.

Nurse said that's nothing women have children all the time.

Another female nurse chipped her, you have no children stop appropriating mothers pain, you winge about a paper cut.

Both stone and childbirth hurt like hell.

Some men and some women can, some cant

I have never believed that. I've seen my husband break his ankle carrying a recliner the walk for 10 miles on it. Didn't bitch once. I would DIE if that happened to me. I think the only thing we can handle more is childbirth but I believe it's a biological thing otherwise we would never have more than one kid lol. We have 4 kids, all born naturally and I'm telling you I'd go through that pain again in a heartbeat if I had another child lol.

We don't know when these two things happened. (And of course she wouldn't provide that information, or is too dumb to figure it out.) The husband's root canal could have been back during the opioid crises when doctors where handing them out like candy, and hers was after the opioid crisis.

I’ve unfortunately had 4 root canals in my life. However, not once did I need anything more than a single ibuprofen the day of, and that was more for the needle they use to numb my face, not the root canal itself. If they tried to give me Percocet I’d refuse it. The fact they haven’t given me any, not once did I think was due to religion or my sex. Some people just really like doing mental gymnastics it seems.

I've heard people say that if men had babies they'd only have one. I agree but not for the reason they think. If men had babies but were still men and didn't have the immense biological yearning to have babies then that's probably true. But we don't so it's a moot point.

Healthcare actually favors women in most cases. Medical spending (and medical research spending) both favor women especially certain types of cancers. Women are more likely to go the doctor, be admitted, and also have better healthcare outcomes than men. This all feeds into them living longer. Even things like men being prescribed pain killers more may not be a good thing (for every women who dies of an opioid overdose about two men will). Male and female biology is different and therefore making direct comparisons of treatment and outcomes isn't as straightforward as comparing things like total or per capita spending.

As men, some of this is our fault and some of this is biology. If men just don't go the doctor, won't take their meds or listen to the doctors orders then that can't be helped. Risky and violent male behavior will reduce lifespans. There may be more sex specific diseases that impact women and therefore they need more attention. Still, in the final analysis some individual complaints where people didn't get the treatment they think they deserve isn't proof of systemic bias, especially as healthcare becomes more feminized.

I don’t know much about pain tolerance differences between males and females. But what I DO know is that my husband ( a combat vet mind you) is a baby back bitch if he’s sick or injured. Lol. I love him so much but he really has zero tolerance for pain.

This actually happened to me too when I had some wisdom teeth removed. My boyfriend was prescribed narcotic pain medication and I was told to take OTC pain relief "as needed".

If you have ever heard women say men handle being sick worse than men not true. Recent studies suggest men due to neurological differences get higher fevers to viruses and bacteria explaining why sometimes they are more debilitated by sickness
