An Interesting Congruence Test

I've seen you post on here a few times, and I've noticed your posts are unique in how they split up interactions into all these different categories of tests. I don't mean to be disrespectful here, but what you described in this post is just a basic textbook shit test.

She "gives you shit" and you need to hold your ground. What's "congruent" about this congruence test exactly?

This post is an example of how overcomplicating and overthinking things turns your brain into mush.

You do not need to divide shit tests into 5,000 different categories. There is no way in hell you will be able to remember how to respond to each kind of shit test.

Just keep it simple, stupid. A shit test is an attack on your frame. You beat a shit test by showing that your frame cannot be perturbed. That's it. The fact that you defended yourself or explained yourself showed that you failed.

I'm working on a book right now, and I address almost this exact same situation.

The key to responding to shit tests is to realize that a shit test is an attack your frame, and the most important aspect of your frame are your purposes. To pass a shit test, therefore, you must make clear that nothing a woman (or anybody else) ever says or does can throw you off your purposes. And just to be clear, everything you do is one of your purposes, so if you are at a bar with your friends, your “purpose” is having a fun time. Also, your purposes and your emotional experience are the same thing, so you fail a shit test not only by allowing a woman to distract you from your purposes, but also by showing that the shit test perturbed your emotional experiences.

For example, imagine you DJ as a hobby, and a woman criticizes you for DJing. She says DJing is a waste of time, DJs are douchebags, there is no money in it, and so forth. Obviously, if you agree to stop DJing, you fail the shit test because you let her make you give up one of your purposes. But you also fail the shit test if you respond to her criticisms with anger, frustration, or other negative emotions. By getting defensive about DJing, you subconsciously communicate that deep down, you yourself might be unsure that DJing is the right thing to do, and that if somebody mounted a stronger challenge to your DJing, they could possibly get you to quit. The right answer to this shit test, therefore, would be to laugh and calmly and unemotionally say something like “well I like DJing” or “ok, well, agree to disagree,” and end it there. If the woman keeps pushing the issue you can say “if my DJing really upsets you, we might not be right for each other.”

OP, This was more of a case of agree and amplify which you simply did not carry through. You could have made a joke of it and made her assumption look even more bombastic, made her laugh, fucked her and moved on from the subject, learn from it and move on.

Ultimately, whenever you are in doubt, just be cocky and sarcastic. If she shows seriousness, then tell her the story like you did in initial response

Why are you allowing a woman to wonder around your house first of all?

You need to control the areas she has access too IF she is in your house. People will steal from you... Snoop through your things etc.

Second....I don't see this as a test at all. It was an overreaction on her part....nothing more. You shouldn't have explained your entire life to make her feel better. Because you had to explain or address something doesn't mean there was a test involved.

Seems like something you should have mentioned in some basic banter back and forth during a date. If you hadn't been trying to be so mysterious in the first place then it would not have been an issue.

Her...so what do you do for fun? You...I keep to myself a Bit but I do have an interest in chemistry. Blah blah.

All while still not allowing her to just wander around your house when she does come over. I think her overreaction was prompted by your attempt to be overly mysterious.

If you want a woman to sleep with you you need to make her comfortable being around you. She clearly was not in the least. I understand if you didn't want to mention it to her but then why bring her somewhere for her to just randomly discover it on her own....

She totally amped up the drama. Oh, the drama! I can fall sobbing into his arms, just like the movies!

I'd have kicked her out for snooping. Expect her to examine your phone, tablet, laptop, and everything else.

Here's a fun thought. Put a $20 dollar bill someplace she'll snoop. See if she steals it.

Beware, after you break up she may breathlessly tell this story to others. "He had a drug lab in a secret room!" For the drama. But word may get back to meth heads, rival drug dealers, etc.

Up your security. I hope you have a security system in your house. I recommend a shotgun with buckshot loads. The nice thing about shotguns is that when you rack the slide, anyone with one functional brain cell departs the premises quickly!

How I should have reacted

Ok, you've got three options here.

Play it weak, this is what you did. "no no no it's not like that". Denial, caring about her opinion, etc.
Jokey / A+A / etc. These are the options you listed, none of which are good.
Play it straight. You say this by saying what something is. You ignore the drugs comment, and say "this is my chemistry lab where I study metallurgy and inorganic chemistry, do you know what that is? here, let me show you how to make salt out of sodium and whatever".

Playing it straight should be your go-to when it's a potentially serious issue. If it's not serious then A+A and other jokes are good. But if it matters: you simply state facts and you IGNORE THE ACCUSATIONS. Or laugh at them. Denial is handing her too much power. Asking questions is handing her too much power.

Here's what's wrong with your jokes:

(1) "I guess I need to find a girlfriend who wants to be with a drug dealer"

Sounds weak, and you're admitting to be a drug dealer. "Needing to find a girlfriend" doesn't sound good.

or (2) "I get it, you need somebody you can trust, I will call you a car. Good luck, I will treasure the time we have had together."

Weird and won't get you a good result

or (3) "So, Mrs. Secretive doesn't like my secrets, is that right?" or

Never ask questions, that's handing her the power, which is where this all went wrong.

(4) "I thought the fact that I was a drug dealer was what excited you about me."

Weak.

Look, you need to learn A+A....... something more like "Yeah, this is some big ass Breaking Bad shit, I'm actually the head of a South American drug cartel".

But fundamentally, learn to play it straight without being weak. The problem you've got is that you care so much that you're trying to force an outcome, and you don't know how to do it. Girls will detect this weakness.

UPDATE Final Outcome: The final outcome of this episode was that I got cut off that night and the following morning was awkward (she was staying in a guest room of mine). I followed up by making a joke out of it. So, I went to a morning appointment and when I came back around 11am she was still there, thank god, and when she asked what my appointment was for I said, "I had an important drug deal to do." I also joked about my study (which is large and has a lot of computers in it): "This is where I coordinate all my drug deals." So, that day it turned into a running joke and we ended up spending all day together on activities like boating and other things. Then, at the end of the second day there were no more tests and everything ended well and had the desired outcome, which she initiated.

The moment she sees you don't treat it like a big deal, she doesn't treat it like a big deal.
