So I am a M24 living in Turkey, and there is a mandatory service for all Men for 6 months, you have to go and waste 6 months of your life peeling potatoes and getting sick in shit infested military dorms for six months.

Luckily you can postpone it as long as your education continues (Bachelors, masters and PhD) and even pay ~5K$ to skip most of it (you will still get basic army training for 28 days).

I graduated from Bachelors about two years ago and immediately started a job (You have 2 years after graduation before you are called to service) and thought to myself I could gather the money required easily given that I am earning a good amount of money for a new grad. And then, as you might know, economic collapse came, and I am STILL trying to save the required amount of money because of the inflation.

Last year I decided that I couldn't save enough money and started applying for masters, only to postpone my draft.

Meanwhile my female colleagues have been going to trips in Europe in EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY and asking why I am not travelling like them?

Maybe because I have bills to pay and money to save? I feel so trapped and depressed by this.
