So it’s my understanding that if you are going to get married, this is the best way to protect your assets. But are there still additional risks associated with this as opposed to not getting married at all?

From the sounds of it, this sounds like a win-win. You get to be married (which your partner might want to stay with you), but you also don’t have to worry about losing half of everything you own down the road. I’m assuming this eliminates potential for alimony (but child support would still be fair game), and makes the prenup that much stronger. Interested in hearing your insights.
