we're not by any means together but we've been talking for a month (we met once before because of mutual friends and his flight was the next day so we kept in touch with instagram), we had our first date fixed this week when he's back and he seemed to really like me, or at least made me think that.

now he texted me that he wants to take a break from social media because of problems at work and that I shouldn't worry if I can't reach him.

I feel taken very taken back but I told him to take all the time he needs while I mentally let go of any potential we had.

I know for a fact he planned how to keep in contact with his friends and family aka the important people to him and if he valued me enough he would've suggested another way to stay in contact.

is this doomed? should I just not waste more time on him ?
