Nowadays everyone is too shallow and too into themselves, and our instant gratification culture we live in makes a relationship, or at least a healthy happy one, almost a fundamental impossibility.

Young people are having the least amount of sex they’ve ever had. We have a rampant loneliness epidemic, particularly amongst the male population. People are marrying less (and with the way the laws are I honestly don’t blame them one bit for making this choice) and dating less, and are staying single more. Nowadays we can just watch porn, have AI partners or even hire escorts in places where it’s legal.

Over time after watching a lot of my friends and even my own dad go through terrible divorces and having everything taken from them, it makes me quite nervous to even get married and I won’t lie, being single is far better for me nowadays. The more I learn about people, the more I realize how happy I am that I don’t have to deal with that drama and was spared.

Our culture is sick. It’s sick because it’s narcissistic and individualistic. Capitalism makes us worker drones who only have time to work and never have time for true genuine connection. Everyone nowadays just wants to text. No one wants to even give someone the time of day to meet in person anymore.

I don’t blame anyone nowadays for feeling lonely it’s a very real thing. The nuclear family has broken down, we are all suffering equally, both men and women. The way to turn the dating scene around and make it more positive, and prevent people from walking away from it, is to be more empathetic and understanding towards each other, and relate to one anothers struggles effectively.

Best advice, pick up a hobby. Get really good at it. Show off your skills. Or, read books, go on long hikes alone, and enjoy yourself.
