Women are hostile to men who work in female spaces and often tell them to go hang out with the boys. If you don't act masculine females call you gay or look down in you. How can they expect so called toxic masculinity to go away when we are treated with such hostility these days?

Society basically says it's not only okay, but funny to pick on and belittle men because it doesn't effect them. Women like men who are masculine even if society & women in general make fun of it and act like it's bad.

Assumption that "toxic masculinity must go away" is wrong.

It's normal behaviour that they prefer to call "toxic". If you accept that - you lost. They see you as their "puppy" after that. "Good boy".

There is nothing wrong with men. For special cases when there is something wrong - there are cops. Women are not cops, not judges. They can't choose what men do or not do.

Dr. Brene Brown was a feminist sociologist who studied shame--the negative feeling you get when someone criticizes you--"you should be ashamed". Women get shamed from a variety of sources. For years she never studied men. When she did, she found men rarely shame other men. Men's shame comes almost exclusively from women and almost exclusively from women's perceptions of men being weak.

'Toxic masculinity' includes 'not showing weakness'. I think 'toxic masculinity' is better framed as women shaming men and women having toxic femininity.

If women suppress men talking about issues, then the only issues that will be discussed are women's issues. This is the matriarchy asserting itself.

I am a man who works in a female dominated environment. I get a lot of respect, but also a LOT of extra responsibility. And if I fall short of the insane expectations, boy do I get a talking to.

Overall I do feel valued but its a constant struggle.

And obviously the extra work does NOT come with extra pay.

i was in fact called gay by girls only in my early teens 13/14. i hade a late puberty and was more feminine and childish looking back then compared to my peers. Though i was perfectly normal personality wise and school wise smarter than most people. boys in fact didn’t even care and always been supportive of me, in fact i got always hyped up by them. they didn’t care how i acted back then. that’s crazy considering women consider themselves to be the most empathetic gender while in my personal experience i was made fun before puberty by them. i never got bullied by guys but it was always borderline bullying by some girls back then, not all of em, i had some backing me up too. but i noticed i got more criticism by the other gender

Women can be hostile in general and are hostile to each other in female spaces. If you as a man are in those spaces you will receive the same treatment.

Overall competitive hostility has no bearing on toxic masculinity which is about men’s actions rather than their interactions.
