My wife and I separated in July 2023 because she punched me in the face and busted my lip. I called the cops and she was arrested, but I did not press charges. This was not the first instance (shoved me a few times in the past 4 years), but the breaking point. I did not cut her off financially and I stayed married so she could use my insurance & credit card to survive and finally go into rehab for alcohol & drug abuse on 10/2. Her emotional abuse continued, she has been playing victim, so I have now cut her off from my credit card. We do not have children, I am 33 and she js 30, and now I want to finally file for divorce. We got married in February 2023. Is there anything I need to worry about or need to prepare for? My biggest concern is our 11K we got from wedding gifts, but I want to send that money back to our guests.
