Dave Attel once said something similar way back. He said he went to a bar and at the bar a lady was sitting alone. He figured I’ll go sit by her and annoy the shit out of her. I think the problem is just that he was relying on a very old, very played-out trope about women in the kitchen / domestic violence, while forgetting to package the trope in any kind of unique, fresh, or interesting take. It's just such a basic, dumb joke and someone who has been given the chance to do his own Netflix special should have higher standards for his material. I'm not saying he should be canceled (or that I even believe in the practice of "canceling" comedians, really), but I think maybe he still has a lesson to learn about "offensive" humor and what makes it work. When people laugh at dark subjects, it's usually because there's a nugget of insight.
