I've been on an over 50s dating discussion forum (not Reddit), where people over 50 can discuss all things related to dating. One thing that has come up is the shear number of women who expect a man to pay for all the dates and wants a man who will let her experience "traditional gender roles". To me, it just sounds like they are looking for a free ride through life. But the other surprising things is the number of men who seem to support this under the name of chivalry. They say they were raised that way, or just built like that. Are men such suckers?

For my part, I say initial dating is 50-50 on paying for things. I want both parties to have a bit of skin in the game. I also want to avoid any sense of obligation or expectation.
