So I was watching a new TV show with my girlfriend last night on Netflix, and yes I’m already well aware that Netflix is notorious for constantly pumping out woke, anti male content. But my girlfriend thought this show looked good so I thought I would give it a shot.

It was no suprise that not even 10 minutes in and the show was already riddled with “girl boss” female supremacy rhetoric. With the female main character seemingly showing up every other male character in the show at basically anything she does. On top of that all positions of notable power and status in the show seemed to be held by female characters.

In the first episode there was multiple scenes showing this very small petite woman putting grown men to the floor in physically altercations. Even one scene which stood out to me in particular that was set at an an all girls soccer game. Where the middle aged white male coach was behaving in a disrespectful and harsh manner to the young girls playing. The female main character confronted him calling him a “rude man” and after arguing with him proceeded to come up behind him and pull his pants down infront of everyone, to which he scurried to pull them back up whilst clearly feeling humiliated. He then turned around and raised his fist to her like he was about to hit her but then he paused, SHE then said “go on, give me a reason to put you down.” The man then quivered, lowered his fists and walked away.

This is a common theme among new movies and TV these days. ‘Big seemingly strong man (usually white) gets embarrassed and put in his place by a woman.’ My girlfriend laughed at this scene and said she loved it because he deserved it. (Clearly got off on seeing a grown man being humiliated and checked by a woman.) I tried to keep my mouth shut because I did not want to be overbearing, but I couldn’t. I felt a strong need to point out how disgraceful I thought that scene was and that the whole purpose of it was to degrade men and put the female character in a dominant position for the viewer. Further promoting the female supremacist anti-male rhetoric we are all so familiar with these days. I then asked her what relevance that scene has to the actual story. And then explained to her that that particular scene was just added into the show for the sake of having a “girl power” moment at the expense and humiliation of men or the male character in particular. Unfortunately my girlfriend just could not grasp what I was saying. It’s like we live in seperate realities and no matter how hard you attempt to get certain people to see the rhetoric being propagated they either can’t see it or pretend not to see it. There was several other scenes of this women physically dominating grown men, and making these men look pathetic. What picture do you think that is painting to the viewer?

Im sick the death of seeing men being degraded on TV constantly. Im just curious as to whether women see this stuff and they enjoy seeing it, so they pretend like it’s not happening. Or whether they are just completely oblivious because it’s not their gender that is being persecuted and in the gynocentric society we live in this rhetoric is just the norm, so it goes over their heads entirely. Curious to hear other thoughts and opinions.
