I’m not sure if the toxicity of social media is getting to me.

Do you post photos or comments (positive, of course) of your partner on social media? How long into dating did you start posting your partner? I’ve heard from many men that if he doesn’t post you at all on social media, he’s essentially hiding you, or keeping the illusion that he’s single, so he won’t lose touch with women he’s friends with on social media.

Now, I do realize that some men, and women, are very private and don’t post photos because it’s not a concern and they want to keep their privacy. But is there a difference between privacy and a secret? Is it weird to never have a single photo of your serious partner on social media? Is it wrong to feel insecure that my partner hasn’t posted me whatsoever? We’ve been dating seriously just under 1 year.

I don’t want to badger him on this, but he scrolls social media a lot, so I know that he uses it to a moderate extent. Is this something that would be silly to being up in a conversation again? Or do I need to touch grass?

I want to add our first year of being together has had quite some turbulence that we’ve worked through. I’m just not sure if the leftover anxiety from that is playing into this.
