"Ugly" men don't pull more "Attractive" Women than the other way around. People just feel more comfortable calling men "Ugly"?.

"pulling women every night" and "finally finding someone who wants to be in a relationship with him" are VERY different situations and they do not have too much to do with attractiveness or uglyness.

Physical attractiveness only weakly correlates with lifetime sexual partner count for men.

Men and women value physical attractiveness the most in a partner, but for men, the next most valued traits are valued way less than the next most valued traits by women (social status, kindness, resource provisioning capability, intelligence, creativity, wit, etc.) Men make up physical attractiveness by other traits way easier and often, than women. This adds to the phenomenon of slightly more attractive women in couples on average. But most of that effect is just that women are more attractive than men.

Or is it more frowed upon to call women "ugly" more than it is men?.

Of course, because more of their "value" is derived from their physical atttractiveness. So a negative judgment is more devastating and is harder to make up by other traits. A man can be ugly but still have lots of "value" from other traits.

Ugly in this conversation means unconventional, not ugly ugly. Like the idea of "ugly hot" is an unconventional face on a conventional body (tall, broad).

Very few truly ugly men can get any women. Like extremely ill proportioned, borderline deformed guys are SOL.

I agree that what is attractive or ugly is very subjective. I find very few people in life would ever fit my definition of straight-up "ugly," and I don't even use that word to describe people. I'm not even sure I could think of a genuinely ugly person in my social circle. It's just not a way that I choose to think about people.

I do see people whom I subjectively think are mismatched in looks dating all the time, though. I would describe this as the normal situation in my wife's home country actually. Most of the average men there are with women whom I subjectively think are much better looking than they are--it's just how the demographics work out (and my subjective opinion of course. I'm sure many of the women find their mates attractive).

I think it’s more difficult for a woman to be ugly than for a man to be ugly.

Women can have their long hair, nice figure, whatever, and they’ll look pretty good most of the time.

Men are just unfortunate. Sure they can grow a beard to appear more attractive, but if it’s a patchy unkept beard it’ll make him even more unattractive. They aren’t as inclined to have long hair, so their face shape is pretty much on its own, so the wrong hairstyle can make him even more unappealing. Weight is more likely to look unattractive on men, whereas women have more curves to distribute potential fat (if that makes sense)

Many men believe caring about their looks is inherently feminine or gay, so they don’t spend the extra time finding a glass frame that compliments their face shape, and they don’t research fashion styles to best accommodate their appearance, they don’t research what hairstyles works best with their head shape

This is a vast generalization, obviously. It’s just my opinion. I’m not saying women can’t be ugly, but they’re just less likely to, in a way?

Yes it’s usually just an opinion of a woman who sees a woman she thinks is attractive but she’s probably repulsed by most men so she thinks he’s ugly anyway.

Men objectively put less effort in to their appearances than women do. Part of looking ugly can be looking unkempt and sloppy. Part of it can be not taking care of your health (which women are also better at).

Ergo, more men are ugly than women. This is just reality.

A lot of men fall into the “ok” looking category which means that they’re not ugly but they’re not cute either. Also, depending on other traits he possesses he can become super attractive to women or be unattractive. I like to think of it as a blank slate.

Only a small percentage of men are genuinely good looking (head turning) to women and most women know this. This is why women tell men they’re able to make up for their looks in other ways.

Women are more willing to date someone who’s not conventionally attractive because there’s not enough attractive men to go around. This has always been the case.
