Recently I've been going out on a Thursday and Friday night for the past two weeks and my game is off, I'm not really getting any results despite approaching in bars and clubs.

For context, I'm UK based, divorced, mid-30s, looking to get out and get my confidence back. I tend to run solo as I don't have many friends who I can go out with. The past couple of times I've been out I've missed opportunities, not approached on the spur of the moment, and in general my chat has been very bad. I tend to just overthink and hover, or then try and approach girls who are at the bar and try chatting them up there with a what are you drinking, where are you from standard chat routine.

I'm guessing they just get bored as they just end up chatting to me while ordering a drink and then go back to their friends.

After striking out, the next day I'm getting this strong depressed feeling, as though my life is slipping away from me and i'm not really getting anywhere, its really shaking my inner confidence.

The rest of my life is fine, I have a decent career, I've worked hard on my looks post divorce (lost 15 kgs, went through a makeover), feels like i'm not getting the results I want after i put the work and effort in and it feels a bit like a waste. Also I get a lot of compliments on my looks in general and I see women check me out in the gym/street/cafes etc it’s just in bars it’s a different story. It’s something I want to work on to kill that competitive inner streak.

How to not feel depressed and not let it shake you?
