I have a colleague from highschool that's currently starting conversations and than responds once very month. I'm baffled as well. I don't see her as a potential date or anything btw but I still don't like it. You either talk or you don't. Even if you're busy you can find time to respond every other day at least. But fuck this shit.

To me this reads as she is bored and looking to kill some time. You fulfill that for her, probably make her feel attractive and wanted as you do it. Then she ghosts you when her life provides her with something else to distract herself with.

The real question is what do you want out of this?

She has a boyfriend, do you want to be her side hookup?

Do you want to steal her away?

Why is she worth your effort instead of someone who is single and more available?
