A lot of people here are hung up on TRP being about being a manipulative egocentric cunt (the Dark Triad personality everyone gets their dick wet over), but people like Gordon show that that attitude misses the point completely. Gordon is a standup bloke by any consideration, and he's 10x more alpha than any of these dark triad figureheads.

Before I get to my point, I would like to say two things:

First -

Obviously this guy is a total asshole, misogynist neckbeard who never gets laid and isn't a real man.

Sounds like sarcasm. In case it isn't though, he banged his bosses's milf of a wife when he was 19.

Second - as a chef and a TRP learner, I appreciate this post on a personal and spiritual level, so respect.

Now, to my point. Gordon's aggressiveness is played up a lot in American media, because it is American media (no offense intended, just cold hard truth). However, he is still a straight up, no-bullshit, totally alpha motherfucker, who is also EXTREMELY CHARMING and FRIGGIN LOVEABLE (yes, Gordon Ramsay is fucking loveable, by men and women). He is the epidamy of TRP philosophy applied in his career, not just women.

Charming, loveable person who takes no bullshit, sets boundaries and enforces the fuck out of them. He REWARDS GOOD BEHAVIOURS, such as LOYALTY and HARD WORK by giving his chefs STAKES IN HIS RESTAURANTS for their loyalty and performance. When people fuck around, step out of line, trying to bullshit, he does not tolerate (he fired a waiter on the spot, for drinking from a glass bottle in front of the customers).

Above all, he runs LTR game like a boss. His family is just as successful as his career. A faithful, good looking, feminine, dutiful wife and 4 perfect kids who do their homework, help out with cooking, and are good at sports. This guy has his home life on lock down.

I know all this because I met the guy. He opened a restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, many, many years ago, and I was fortunate enough to have worked under such an accomplished man.

A successful, happy, dutiful family
Highest accolades the catering industry can award (3 Michelin stars)
22 restaurants in 5 continents, each one making money always (he closes any that doesn't, like the one in Melbourne :( ...)
When TV opportunity came, he took it, ran with it, and is now probably the most famous chef in the world, earning $500k per episode of Hell's Kitchen US.
Drives a fucking Bentley.

TL:DR - I friggin love this post, and Gordon Ramsay is the perfect example of TRP man who applies its philosophy to every single area of his life.

Edit: Forgot one thing, because apparently I haven't sucked his dick enough already, but Gordon absolutely friggin lifts. He also runs marathons and does Iron Man Challenge every year. The mofo is almost 50.

Even before TRP, I wondered why everyone thought Gordon Ramsey was an asshole (in a bad way). I love his shows, and while he seems very loud and abrasive you can't deny that all he's doing is helping people with their failing businesses.

If anyone deserves to be called an asshole, it's some of the passive-aggresive business-owners featured in Kitchen Nightmares. Some of those people I just want to punch in the fuckin' face.

Just as a slight counterpoint. My dad worked as a chef for most of his life, in some of Sydney's most prestigious restaurants. He's a man who knows how to handle the pressure of a busy kitchen and a hardass boss, no doubt about it.

He's said to me that he wouldn't work under Ramsay if it were the only job going, and that he's dealt with people like Ramsay before, and men like Ramsay have no REAL respect for the people who work under them.

For whatever that's worth, I thought I should just bring it to the table.

I had pretty much the OP opinion of Ramsay until one particular incident when he kicked somebody while they were down for no good reason. Not only was the person handling a situation that anybody finds difficult, extremely well, but they were quite young too. They were handling it more maturely than most adults would, and Ramsay made an unnecessary, unproductive remark in a very cowardly fashion, and visibly deflated said person who should have left the room with their head held high, like they would of if he had not made said remark. Since then, I've taken my dad's voiced opinion on Ramsay much more seriously.

People are always talking about how the anger and aggression side is played up, mostly through editing, to placate what audiences want. But never forget, that the alternative image that you're getting. The tough-as-nail-but-always-fair image, that's also cultivated through exactly the same medium as the former image. Do you really think that one is a "fake" and the other is "real"?

I think Ramsay is a mixed bag, and I'm not entirely sure what said bag contains, but I know it isn't either of the images that we're presented with when we're watching HIS SHOWS.

On top of everything, Ramsay gives us actual instructions on how to cook. Then, you actually invite a woman over, channel your inner Ramsay, and have her be your sous chef. You would not believe their response.

I've worked in a lot of mid to high end commercial kitchens as a line cook and if your chef isn't abusing you, he's not doing his job. The pressure to get shit served, delicious and in under 20 minutes is insane. I had a souix chef above me that was "nice" (a woman) and she lasted less than a month before getting the sack.

Furthermore I've learned myself in my work outside of the food service industry that positive reinforcement is great only when used sparingly and tempered with constructive criticism. In other words even if one of my employees does a job better than I ever could I will still hunt for that one flaw, that one possible improvement and point it out. I also won't shower employees with praise just for doing their stinking job adequately. I won't even thank them. I PAY them.

Ramsay is fucking awesome. His story is actually pretty cool, I believe he was an almost pro soccer player who was injured and managed to turn his second passion into his career. To go from the guy baking bread at 12AM to the one running the 5 star restaurant is huge enough, and then he re-established himself as a TV personality.

I personally think his shows suck, but that's irrelevant, his cooking series on Youtube taught me a lot, and he's clearly an alpha. He is one of the best examples of "breaking rapport" vocal tone on TV. (Seeking Rapport being what most betas speak in 24/7).

A man I know used to tell me that he hated Gordan Ramsey how he's too loud and cocky and unkind. It's silly though because he is the one who does a lot of good for other people. No one would love a quiet, reserved and kind little man, because quite often they wouldn't have the charisma and the confidence to do something on the scale as men like Ramsey. It's a miserable view where they say they hate him for being great and only see the "asshole" in him not his results. Then again jealousy of his success may make them hate him even more.

I used to hate when someone talked to a person in a way that could be offensive, (thanks to my upbringing) and I used to prefer it if people beat around the bush and say things that might not necessarily be true but are what the person wants to hear. This leads to mediocrity and I think it's absolute pussification if you can't deal with being told the truth in order to grow and make the best result.

I was born in the 70's, pure product of the baby boomer, liberal, feminist, antiracism, etc BS and I can't find a girl able to cook... oh they like to eat and talk about food all the time, but they are just too lazy to do the groceries, go find good supply at the farmer marker or elsewhere and cook. But all those girls and women are ok to go to the restaurant 4 times a week + food to go the rest of the time... when I say they spend their salary like that I always have the same answer: "I'm not cool and don't know how to enjoy life"... Luckily I learn to cook very early by obligation and because as a man I'm interested to learn anything I can learn.

This is a sad period: men are blue pill and feminine but women don't know how to do basic chores to take care of a house/family/themselves... they have no values whatsoever, luckyly they are empowered :-)

My mom used to cook all the time. Now I've taken up about half of the meals in the house and I'm a much better cook than she is. She also pulls that BS about not having time and being too tired. Cooking your own meals, I mean actually cooking with a recipe that wasn't printed on a store-bought meal, is a privilege. One that you absolutely cannot waste.

Of course I;m the kind of uppity bastard who gets fed up with a recipe if I've cooked it more than five times in a year. Hell, my mom's actually managed to ruin one of my recipes, the first one I ever used.

I know people like Gordon Ramsay. They hide their sadistic side covered in truth. They act like this around omega and beta men because they can get away with it.

When the guy is twice Ramseys size, he cuts down on the bravado and straight talk. During one such episode, Ramsey flinched and lost his frame when he got outalphaed by another owner. I saw fear in his eyes, so Ramsey is no psychopath.

With that said, Ramsey gives great advice and I take it to heart. But if you want to avoid an alpha like Gordon Ramsay from talking rudely to you, you need to lift and learn a martial art

I don't think that Ramsey is a good example of a role model of a good chef de cuisine nor leader.

He is constantly loosing frame, shouting and swearing. People only function the way they do because they are afraid of failing and being mistreated by him.

There are always two ways to gain and keep power: By applying violence (physical and/or psychological) or by being the person that people want to be following because they admire you for who and what you are.

While they both work equally good to get power and even to keep your status while you are physically and mentally fit and arent't challenged by a rival which is lower in status, people which where forced will pleasently watch you being thrown over when your time has come.

People who admire you will act contraryly and will defend you and make sure you will regain your position as their leader since they believe there is no other person which is as capable as you.

How would you even begin to come to the conclusion that a famous celebrity chef would be a neckbeard. I can almost guarantee he gets good poon.
