Idr the name of the technique but basically you review your material and and write down all the stuff you need to study more. If you know it, it doesn't go on the list. From that list, you identify things that you don't know but that you could probably understand pretty easily with a little studying. You focus on those things until you understand them and then you take them off the list. Now your list is a little shorter and you can focus on the next easiest concepts until you know them and can take them off the list as well. Repeat ad infinitum.

Eventually you'll either end up with no list or a list small enough that you should be able to cram the remaining material before the exam.

The idea is that you focus on things that are within your grasp first and work your way to things that are most difficult for you. Seems pretty obvious but you'd be surprised how much it helps.

Hello, fellow law student. I've struggled with your problem for a long time and I finally found a solution that works for me. My mentality towards it was completely off and I had to change it 180 degrees (gotta love being stuck below your capabilities in high school).

Anyway, here's my tactic:

Realize you're doing it for yourself, not to please teachers or anyone else.
Find out what peaks your interest about law. This will help motivate you to sit your ass down and actually put in the effort required.
Stick to the course schedule and write down when you're going to study what, how long you think it will take and when to take small breaks to clear your mind. Do this at least two weeks in advance so that you can still reschedule if you notice that you need more/less time to understand the subject (This prevents you from rushing things). It's important to not let anyone change your study schedule, just like with everything TRP related.
Classes are there to evaluating your knowledge periodically, it's important that you are prepared while attending them. During and afterwards you need to write down what you already know and what you still need to work on.
Exams are a tool to proof to others that your knowledge on the subject is sufficient. If you failed you need to evaluate and understand what you did wrong to not make the same mistakes again.

PS. Don't be afraid to ask others for help if you don't understand things.

I use Anki to make flash cards. The program tests you and then decides when to show you the card again. It’s called spaced repetition, if you want to waste some time check out “supermemo”, it’s the father program created by a reclusive genius type and his life story (on the website) is super interesting.

Can't speak for law but, I can for military death by power-point.

Flashcards do work, especially if you handwrite them yourself. Go over everything until you know it all. Then after that begin to time yourself for an accurate but quick response. Might come in handy for law.

When getting fire-hosed with information pay attention vs writing everything down. Then whatever subject you covered that day you go over with classmates or yourself in a group no larger than 5.

And take time out of your day to learn little bits at a time. Avoid cramming as it's less effective and may pass your exams or whatever but, you want to make this your job. Be a lawyer you'd like to hire.

Translate information rather than copying it. That's why teachers always tell you to put things into your own words. When you think a concept though and articulate it through your own thought process, the knowledge stays.

Im studying Dentistry, What i found works is That i Ask The students who are ahead (year/semester) of me to give me their scripts/notes for the course as well as and most importantly use my own notes.

Then basically i go through each topic, after I try to without notes explain /write what I have accumulated. Or actually it goes like this for me :

1.read material 2. Explain to myself either vocally or by writing what I just read of said topic. Without use of scripts books etc. 3. Try to understand principles rather than to be able to name super detailed names and structures of said topic. 4. Fucking read everyday. Routine routine routine routine routine 5. The more you read and practice to use the knowledge by recplaining or writing more better you get. 6. Ask your professor about questions on things you are uncertain of. (How usually to go about answering a big question, what do I need to include, is knowing this and this good enough etc.) 7. Repeat

Not necessary, start day by eating high fat and high protein breakfast. 9.organize and plan out a basic schedule for your study time to be successful and or effective. (3hours today chapter 1-2 etc. )
