Actually there are all kinds of people on tinder including those looking for serious.

I don’t take tinder seriously. There are a lot of bots and flakes. But I have got dates and women to come over from it so it’s just another tool to get more exposure and practice

It`s highly different place then coventional dating. Most of my dates were from Tinder though. If you are thinking that you will get laid in the first date, chances are near zero, so you have to aim for second and maybe third dates. But the thing is, if you are aiming to get laid, 99 percent you won`t, just put yourself in the other person`s shoes. She would probably say, ohh he is just one other guy who wants to fuck. So focusing on the experience rather than the outcome has more yield, both in physically and just making friends. Just enjoy the dates and try to create sexual tension if thats what you are after.

2007 thru 2014 I've met several women on pof and ok cupid, never anyone on tinder, and nobody on any form of internet since 2014.

I've hooked up with 4 of them (repeatedly).

I can safely say I got results with online dating in the past but was never "successful".

Girl #1 lied about getting pregnant to try to rope me into being more than fwb. I told her I at least expect heavier set women to be able to cook a chicken correctly. She got mad enough to never contact me again, so that worked.

Girl #2 keyed my pickup truck after I told her I wanted to start a relationship with someone so our arrangement had to end. I may or may not have returned the favor.

Girl #3 an agnostic who had a father who openly wanted to murder people who love The Virgin Mary. I never judge a person based on their faith but I also like not being murdered. I kicked myself out of her car on the side of the highway.

Girl #4 agreed with me at the start we were doing a casual situationship. She said she wanted to be my girlfriend and wanted to move in 1 month into hooking up but didnt want to pay anything. Her cousin who I became friends with ratted her out that her ex was still living with her. I just dropped her off one night and blocked her number, knowing she couldn't remember how to find my place. The only time I ever ghosted a girl.

All of the above: required regular medical checkups. My crabs had super herpes. Then I realized the report was a false positive. But I couldn't be too careful.

Moral of the story: Abolish o.l.d.

I've had 2 serious relationships (and some hook ups) stem from Tinder.

Basically tinder is a social media oriented toward dating. Once you meet up face to face the game is exactly the same.

It works well if you use a logical approach.

Firstly, sign up for Premium or whatever they call it.

Secondly, write a good bio and BE HONEST about yourself. You know, talk yourself up a bit, but be realistic.

Third, close the app and wait for notifications. Don't start swiping.

With the Tinder subscription, you'll get notifications when women like you. That already puts you 50% ahead. You won't spend hours swiping and everyone you'll interact with at least has a partial interest in you.

Now, lastly, don't care about getting laid. Flirt, but be casual. I've found that not caring gets women super-interested to the point that they'll be asking to see you. Be yourself, but be mysterious. Make them know there's more to you but they're not going to get to it through Tinder.

Once you've done that, you're golden.

Anecdotally, I rarely used dating apps (in a relationship now), but in the few months I did use them, I used this approach and I've had 6-8 women who've wanted to meet ME for sex (I never even asked about it). Ironically, I turned most of them all down because I'm somewhat of a demisexual myself and I need an emotional connection (which coincidentally made them try even harder to get me to sleep with them).

I have a pretty good profile and am fit, well dressed and conventionally attractive. I usually swipe on maybe 1 in 20 women so I don't get too many matches. Last summer I used it casually and ended up meeting up and hooking up with one attractive girl a month. Two of those three became summer flings and I ended up dating one of them for a while as she was a very high-value person.

Gotten 20 lays from tinder. Many have come over for wine and a movie, many dates turned into a lay. Never expected it, always was ready for it and always shot my shot to bring her back to mine if we were out for drinks

If you really want casual sex, you need to own it. Get yourself a profile on a local swingers website, get verified and ‘reviewed’ by people you’ve met. If I (33f) want sex quickly, I look for verified, reviewed members and pick whoever is available/nearest with interesting reviews. It’s pretty transactional but it works and everyone is on the same page. No flowers and drink buying is required.

It's not the only thing - many girls use it as 99% validation when they're bored - some are looking for relationships - but a lot are at least OPEN to hookups depending on the girls mood etc.

As a frequent Tinder user, it’s not correct (at least in my city - a major one) that the app is only used for hookups. In fact, once you weed through the many fake profiles, and past the ones you aren’t interested in, I’ve discovered that there are actually a few on the app who are genuinely looking for dating and potential relationships. It’s exhausting trying to get there, but there are *juuusst enough of them on Tinder to keep me on the app (well, on and off). I’ve never been good with or into hookups, so have nothing substantive to add there, but just wanted to add my observations on what I’ve encountered on Tinder as a dating app.
