You have to admit that the military staff does not share this point of view. They do think their country is worth working for and are satisfied with the security, pay and retirement that this career offers

It depends who you are and how you aim to spend your life. For example I have an entrepreneur spirit, there is no project that is too big for me and hence there is no money that is enough. I do work for a corporation in an industry that I do love (all 8-5 office jobs are not boring). I do have enough to live more than comfortably and I got there by working hard in a job that I found fun. On the other hand, you sound like you are well depressed and not very optimistic. It is not a bad thing, but you have to handle it correctly so that it does not block you from enjoying your time on earth.

Work is like dating, and your point of view is like a neckbeard being pissed at the girls who don't want them. Working actually IS rewarding and satisfying as soon as you don't NEED a job but the job needs YOU. Exactly like abundance mentality. The reason why I have enjoyed my career so far is that I have always been ready to leave my job on the spot if I wasn't happy. When I say on the spot, I mean it. It is an attitude that give you your true value and doesn't need to do do compromises and sacrifices for a job you hate.

I do agree with you on that. I skipped all of the schooling system and have learned much more with raw experiences. If I had seen that after years of studying I would be quite disappointed.

Not all of us got to grow up and get two degrees. Some of us worked bullshit jobs in bullshit conditions to take care of ourselves. Some people grow up in countries so shitty that the only thing they do is wake up and try to find food. You live such a privileged life yet with your extensive time spent in school you still haven’t figured that out.

If you come from a country AND family where you can earn two degrees you should be doing anything and everything to make a fucking difference in this piece of shit world. If you’re too good for that go fuck yourself. Go become an ascetic and give up all your shit and quit wasting your time because you’re so fucking special.

I’ll keep getting my education and work hard because I do environmental work. It makes me happy to know I’m helping reduce the burden on our planet for my future children and my community.

well alot of that has to do with being a beta bitch who lives or dies by the approval of his peer group and societal peer pressure to have a "real" job, a nice house, a new car, etc.

i don't care about other people, but i do care about being able to buy experiences, travel, for my own pleasure and enjoyment. the more money you have, the more frequently you can do this and you can also experience a higher quality of the experience/thing that you want.

whether you chose this or not, reality still dictates that you're not going to be fucking 9/10's without a shitload of money; barring ones that have a warped sense of self-esteem that you can exploit with game.

"live comfortably" could mean different things to different people. If you don't want to be 'in' the system and ne minimalistic without going for 'fuck you' money then so be it. I personally want to make as much money as I can and have it for emergencies and unpredictable situations. Not to mention to spend it later on the experiences I want to have.

But see, it's all relative. You can have a big house. Great car. Alot of money. Then all of a sudden your country is at war. All your 'tangible' things are gone. Money Hardly means shit unless you want to get out of the war zone. Money comes into play one way or the other. Even if there is a higher valued commodity. To me it sounds like you are in a rebellious phase. If I could reverse time I'd pay more attention to my studies and certain financial decisions I made. Just be changing a few decisions (now that I better understand things) I would be in a much better situation and living more "comofrtably".

Nobody cares about you except your parents. And they have a biological investment in you. Your life, all that equal bullshit aside, is only as much valueable as you provide value for others.

The system runs on money. Having a shelter, a warm bed, food, water, clothes. You need money for it. It simplifies the exchange of resources (read: people's life time).

If you want to exit the system you need enough money to exit it permanently. And that means working for it or having a valueable idea that makes you money.

I was (kinda still am) stuck in that bubble. I made a lot of money before I dropped my old job through dissatisfaction among other reasons, before retraining to do something else.

I’d suggest finding something you enjoy, fuck money, and sticking with it.

In terms of girls, they will not get with you if you are miserable, regardless to how much money you have.

What are you talking about?

You have goals. Dreams. Wants. Aspirations. You can't get there completely by yourself. You use products, services and other people in various ways to get there. In order for them to provide you with value, you have to prove that you provide society with value. Money is the sign that you do something for others, and that butterfly effect eventually reaches the person you're paying. So they'll help you out and so on.

You don't have to pursue it, but it's not useless or pointless.
