slowly weed him out of your social circle - should be easy, seems like nobody likes him. how could you like a dude like that lol.

but in the meantime if youre working on a girl and he's being crass and (lets just say) its only the three of you, work to isolate. this can actually benefit you, as she will also want to get away from the guy. make sure you acknowledge the fact that you realize he's offensive and lewd and that you don't hang out with him when you have the choice. do what you can to distract him and such - if he drinks a lot you can get him away from the girl by sharing a shot with him and then kind of sending him off. then go back to the girl.

I had a similar situation a few years ago. I was in a training school for about 5 months. A few of us got pretty tight. One guy was funny and interesting, but turned into an incredible asshole when we went out drinking. If I didn't know him sober, I would have assumed he seriously needed an ass beating, and he often seemed to focus on me.

We basically all stopped inviting him out to any occasions that could involve drinking or talking to women. Problem solved.
