Hey Guys,

I've been reading Models by Mark Manson and he gives examples of various ways girls will test you by saying something fairly rude and judging you on how you respond (Pages 54-56). Mark says that a truly confident man would respond in a way that isn't too harsh or too nice. He would disagree with the girl and give a reason why. A nice guy response would be to agree with or deflect the rude comment. A false confident man would overcompensate and be rude right back to the woman.

The thing is, I'm a very sarcastic person ...my typical response would be to agree and amplify sarcastically.

Example:

Girl: Wow you're a little short.

Me: Yeah I'm a hobbit ..I use a booster seat to drive my car. (Being sarcastic as I'm ~5ft 8in)

The problem is that this falls into the "nice guy" response. I've been called a nice guy many times before and would have trouble in relationships because I'm too nice, so I can see why a response like this wouldn't be the most effective.

Should I re-think the way I allow women (and people in general) to talk to me? My fear is that I may come off as over-sensitive or lacking a sense of humor if I take Mark's advice.

Any help is appreciated.
