I was laying on my couch last night with a cute girl who I had been flirting with a bit but had no clear IOIs from, trying to make up my mind / get up the nerve to kiss her. I know, I know, just go for it -- but in this case, I had a moment of epiphany:

I have never, not a single time, been rejected by a girl I tried to kiss. While my stomach is in knots and my brain conjuring images of all sorts of train-wreck failures, the reality is simply that if I'm at a point where I'm thinking about it, she is apparently already willing.

Most importantly, to me this says I haven't been moving fast enough or often enough. A 100% success rate just means I'm playing it safe and easy, and that's going to change. I'm setting a goal for rejection, and I'm going to hit it.

What about you? How often do you get blown out of sets or rejected on any sort of close?

PS. Epiphany over, I asked her if she had any Mace on her. She looked confused, said no, and then I said "great" and kissed her. The night progressed beautifully from there. :-D
