I was walking with some friends from bar A to bar B and as I passed through a crowd in front of bar C, my shoulder brushed the drink out of a girl's hand and it broke on the ground.

I turn around to a silent crowd of big, drunk redneck frat guys all giving me the eyeball and the girl staring at her smashed drink. I wanted to defuse the situation fast, so I just said, "Was that drink full? [Yes] Come with me, I'm buying you another."

I walked into the bar & she followed, and that's when things got odd. She was suddenly all over me, lots of kino, lots of compliments about my behavior, and a request to let her buy me a drink so I could stay and then -- in her words -- go somewhere more private.

I had friends waiting for me so I dipped out, but I was just flat-out stunned. I understand the surface level of what happened here -- I was direct, in control, and unapologetic. I isolated her without following her or even manhandling her along -- I just walked in front expecting that she'd follow.

I want to put this out there for a closer analysis, though -- what exactly do you guys think happened there? And is there a way to pull a similar reaction without knocking drinks on the ground?
