I met her about 2 months ago at a hobby-related event just when I was getting into this seduction lark; needless to say I didn't get her phone number at the time but I looked up her email afterwards and made a solid excuse to contact her. In the past two months we have been dancing around each other's schedules and generally just taking a while to reply.

We finally were in the country at the same time so I said we should grab some tea together and she suggested last night. I chose the venue. Our emails were pretty cordial, no flirting or anything like that.

Anyway, it started good. I was deliberately 5 minutes late (and didn't refer to it at all, classic Roissy). Conversation-wise, I was being challenging (in the good sense) and she seemed to respond to that well. Bunch of status DHVs and interesting stories, made a her laugh a lot, etc. I think she was interested in me although not amazingly so, although this is mostly from body language and reaction - we weren't talking about things that would illicit that sort of reaction. After we had one drink (at least 45 minutes in) she suggested we got another which I took to be a good sign.

We stayed in the same venue the entire time (close to 2 hours) and then I walked her to the station and I gave her a hug and she left. We were talking the entire time, it wasn't awkward or anything and there weren't any quiet moments all evening.

My biggest problem was that there was zero sexual context in our conversation. To be clear, I'm not complaining that we weren't talking about porn or sex itself, but there was nothing in the conversation to suggest that we were even on a date. Perhaps she didn't think she was even on a date, which sucks. Whilst I don't want to be LJBF, I'd much rather go there rather than straight to the friend zone (or her thinking I'm asexual or something).

TL;DR I didn't take any risks and didn't get any reward.

Anyway, my three questions:

  1. If there is no sexual context (eg. flirting, etc.), how do you introduce it? She was a little posh and I'm a bit middle-class so it would need to be somewhat tactful or it would be a bit incongruent. Mention ex-girlfriends? Find some way of bringing it up? Ask her about her boyfriend (even if you already know the answer)?

  2. Is my whole approach wrong? As in, did I screw it up by not having a sexual frame as soon as we met up?

  3. How should I move forward with this girl? I was thinking of sending her an email like "Hey, you're a pretty interesting girl. Do you want to hang out sometime?" or something kinda forward.
