Three things: if you wanted to take her home that night, you should have made her wait while you closed your tab instead of getting her number, even if you were a block or two away. It's only a few minutes and if you've done the right things, she'll wait, and that will improve your chances with her later that night.

Second, when getting a number, I always either call her right away (if she's next to me) and have a ridiculous conversation with her, or text her right away with something like "good meeting you tonight, see you soon unless [something slightly hecklish, like in this case 'you are too busy breaking cigarettes']"

I also never say "hey its [name], met you at [blah]", or "whats up", just sounds a little passive/desperate for my liking. Second text (1+ day after meeting her) is always something like "hey meet me out thursday night. do you like [blah]?" where blah is something we'll experience that night. If I'm 100% sure she doesn't know my name/number I will sign the text " -[myname]". HTH.

So all in all my approach and number close were solid, but still wondering where I went wrong because she never returned my text.

Kezia Noble makes a good point about this on her Deep Connection program... she was saying that girls who are out at clubs are all amped up emotionally, may be a little bit drunk, and are doing whatever to keep the emotions positive, and will usually give their phone numbers out with little provocation. So she may have given her phone number to 4-5 other guys that night, and then a day or two later, when she's sobered up and not on that emotional high anymore, she gets all these calls from people she doesn't know. Result: flaking.

She says that the answer (for night-game, mind you) is to go for a more "solid" close than just a number close. That is, the girl is more likely to remember - and want to see again - the guy she kisses, or goes home and fucks - than a guy she just gave her number too.

I think her theory makes a lot of sense, and if you buy it, it argues for being more aggressive about going for at least a make-out session, if not the SNL, when doing club-game.

It sounded all good, but I probably wouldn't have texted "hey its {blah blah} i met you at {blah blah club}. Whats up?" I would have teased her a little bit, maybe somehow bring up a joke with the cigarette. But all in all, sounds like you had a good night, despite not getting the kiss.

Great story man, Ill have to try the cigarette bit, i usually just end up giving them one and chat with them but that sounds better! I would say your phone skills need some improvement. Here are some things i have read in a cellphone book which has helped me tons. 1. When getting her number always try for her to save your number on her phone. That way she wont see a random ass number when you call/txt. If it is possible try to grab her phone and save yourself in it, get creative and save yourself as something funny, tell her to save herself on your phone with something funny too. 2. While you are exchanging numbers say something around the lines of , wait a second, you are not one of those girls that are rlly fun in person but are rlly boring over phone/txt are you? This will stay in the back of her head and will most likely result in her trying to prove you wrong. 3. Try to get the phone earlier during the night if possible and txt her right away, depending on how things are you could go with flirty or just funny. ex: Hey could you help me? I meet this girl that wont stop flirting with me, what should i do? ( txts like this one have worked rlly well for me) Not only will this get her used to you texting her, but its also something fun that could go throughout the whole night, even though she is right in front of you. 4. avoid the "hey its [name], met you at [blah]", or anything that could be answered with a yes or a no, try to start with something that relates to your last encounter, maybe an inside joke?. Ex: I met this girl at a club that told me one of her co-workers used the code word shopping when they went out to drink, so i went with something like " im never going shopping with you again, i need an aspirin the size of a hockey puck...." just something that will take her back to a moment were you where together.
