It's obvious to those of you better at this, but it was a bit of a shift in mindset for me.

Usually, I do pretty well on first dates, enough that I usually get 2nd or 3rd dates pretty easily. However, it usually falls apart after that, even when the girl's really into me. It's because when I decide I like a girl, I get anxious and I'd want to see her all the time. Basically AFC behavior. In addition, I let my guard down, and the fun-ness I brought to the table on the first two dates isn't as prevalent on the 3rd. But lastly and most importantly, I don't let them chase me. I decide too quickly that I want to spend time with this girl, and I end up texting her first after our last interaction.

I realized that if the last date/interaction went well, you'll be on her mind. If you're 95% to 100% sure that you can get a next date with her, don't ask her out. Keep in light contact with her, but let her chase you. This works especially well if on your last date, you talk about cool things you two could do together. In the mean time, work on the other girls.
